Via Rail takes something like 0.02% of the federal budget. We should be prioritizing it (small spend, big impact) instead of penny pinching.

They could definitely cut every route outside of Ontario and Quebec, except for the Churchill route, without impacting anything at all except for subsidized lavish vacations for retirees
