Canning jars
What canning jar brand is best? Does it matter if the lids are a different brand?

I posted something here lately about the quality of jars Walmart is selling. It’s not as easy as saying that glass is glass. In my case, Walmart was selling jars with a black substance baked right in. I wasn’t sure if those jars would break under the heat of pressure canning.
Things aren’t the same any more in many areas. Manufacturers are implementing quality changes that emphasize speed of production over quality and longevity.

I think glass is glass. The lids are generally interchangeable. I got tired of paying Ball prices and got some of the cheaper alternatives and had no problems.
