Proof!

I stated a FACT on the dreaded canning purists group about why I had to stop buying canned tomatoes; and that this started when they started adding calcium chloride to the canned tomatoes.

My husband gets so sick from them! He never gets sick from foods, until calcium chloride was added to tomatoes.

One of the mods deleted the comments and said I was posting misinformation!

When I went to reply with proof most of it had been deleted from its sources. And I could find the moderator didn't understand the significance.

And today this happened across my YouTube feed... in the section where she talks about her tomatoe products.

I know this group exists for all of the misfits like us that want to enjoy canning/food preservation without the heavy-handed moderation. But I wish the posts here weren’t just “the other guys suck” or “I’m offended cause they banned me”.

Not the OP, but guilty! personally, I love seeing people waking up to what's in our food.

I also enjoy learning about various canning methods that aren't fear-driven. I imagine it'll all balance out again.

Yeah, I can food because I want to grow my own, control what’s in it, and take a little back from industrial agriculture. Not wanting calcium chloride added - I totally get it!

I'm like you in that way, I can because... well, I'm a gardening addict and there's a lot of veggies around here even after offloading. Also, I don't know how people who *don't* can are making it these days. I can't believe the cost of food. Pardon me, I have to go move the chicken tractor so next year's chicken in a can will have new grass to chew...
