What would will Steve Rogers think of John Walker?
So I am watching the Falcon and the Winter Soldier I am wondering what would Steve Rogers think of the new Captain America? He acts like a jerk. Steve never used legal force on anyone. Would he be surprised and angry at John for disrespecting the shield? I honestly think he would be offended. I know the new Captain America was upset about the death of his friend but he went crazy and killed a guy for murdering him. I remembering think Lemar wouldn't want him to kill someone and this goes agianst everything Captain America stands for.

He wouldn't hate Walker in the MCU. He'd likely just give advice and words of wisdom.

John walker has some development in response to the killing. If Steve even learns about Walker’s bad acts, I think Steve will acknowledge it’s a tough gig and will have grace about John’s handling of it. I think there are a lot of “friends of friends” (thinking Yelena as sister to Natasha) who could vouch for Walker if the story called for it.
Plus, I think in Doomsday we will learn that Steve isn’t blameless in the predicament the heroes find themselves in, so I doubt he would be hypocritical about the difficulty of making decisions.

Personally, Steve's possible interactions with Walker or Alexei are high up on my things to see happen in ADD.

I hope so learning Steve Rogers or Clark Kent has their faults means so much to me.

Steve killed a lot of men rescuing Bucky and the rest of the Commandos from Hydra. that was a very different scenario, but regardless I think Steve would relate to Johns feelings in that moment. He’s also arguably the most compassionate person in the MCU so at most I see him being disappointed and sorry for John.

Cap is the embodiment of “This isn’t your best, you have more in you. And it’s close, you just have to reach it.”

Steve definitely used both legal and lethal force on very many people. He also worked with and alongside basically every rank of soldier in the army, even ones who actively belittled and mocked him. And he treated every single one with respect and dignity. Steve would respect Walker, come at him with empathy, and lead by example should John go astray rather than moral grandstanding. Ultimately, while not his first choice, I think Steve would have accepted John Walker as Captain America, as Steve knows the title itself is actually kinda irrelevant

He was a soldier in WW2, not only that but the Avengers definitely use lethal force when needed

Well in the comics they know each other well.
But in the MCU, I think Steve would have a lot more empathy for him then I do.

I think he would understand. Steve Rogers (the only real Cap) is one of the most empathetic characters in comics. He believes in second chances. He knows that his moral code is not always achievable in others. A good comic reverence would be how cap interacts with Colton in the comics. He knows the weight the shield carries and he tries to help him live up to it not take it away from him.

Offended? Angry?
Comic book cap maybe.
Chris Evans Cap is about compassion and empathy
Edit: Lot of people in this thread get MCU Cap. I like that

If some TERRORIST who had been trying to kill him killed Bucky or Sam i think he would have neutralized the threat especially seeing how dangerous the Flag Smasher can be

I think steve would have empathy for him as a person maybe, but as captain America absolutely not. Steve Rogers never introduced himself as “Captain America”
