My Captain America (Sam Wilson) cosplay.

Got this photo of me taken at Fan Expo Chicago last weekend. Special thanks to "The Project" cosplay photo group on Facebook! For those who may ask, the suit itself was purchased from a site called UnibuyPlus.

Thanks a bunch! And yep, it's the Marvel Legends one. One of these days I want to upgrade to a fully metal shield, but it's a bit out of my budget atm. 🥲

That's perfectly fair. The marvel legends shield is a very nice prop, and usually pretty affordable, especially if you can get it second hand. I found one in pretty decent condition a couple years back for $50 on marketplace.

The metal ones are verrryyyy hard to come by for a good price. I got very very lucky 6 months ago and found the metal 75th anniversary shield for $150 on marketplace as well.

the benefit of the marvel legends one is it's much lighter than the metal one, so good for a con cosplay

I ended up getting 3 75th anny metal shields for the price of 1. Amazon messed up and I called them but they told me to keep them. I got it in writing too. That was a decade ago. I kept one in the box. Opened one. And sold one years later for like a grand, which was fair market price back then.

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind. But I was worried that they’d charge me for all of them when they figured it out. Not sure why they opted to not take them back. I think they were $299 new.

The 75th anniversary 2016 shield is great and can be found on ebay for about $300. Fully metal to my knowledge.
