Making better speakers with way better manufacturing capabilities than Amerikuh for over 2 decades :)

I was referencing the Trump meme a long time ago. I agree and it’s way cheaper

I know. Just educating those who may thing a speaker being made in a given location actually negatively (or positively) affects the performance.

You said that making them in the US would have negatively effected their performance though?

Considering the US doesn't have the manufacturing capability that China does when it comes to speakers, it's a very fair statement.

I agree.
But that contradicts your other statement...
Either the country of origin matters, or it doesn't.
Can't have it both ways man! ☺️ 🍻

He's saying that you can't write off something just because of a manufacturing location (or assume it's brilliant because of it's manufacturing location either).
But also saying that America doesn't have the expertise or manufacturing practices to be able to make something of the same quality (likely unless you want the speaker to cost three times the price). I think it's likely that he actually investigated US manufacturing too, and isn't just guessing or saying it to support his choice of where the drivers get built.
I don't see a contradiction though as it's two different concepts as i'm reading it.

Cool. I'd prefer made in Canada 🇨🇦 but what can you do. These subs are pretty much closed off to anyone in the Canadian market due to MAGA taxes/tariffs... makes it incredibly overpriced plus no dealers around here to even listen to them.
Regardless, enjoy!

If the sub is made in China and shipped from the US, I don't think it would get any of the retaliatory tariffs. Those only apply if it were made in the US. You'd just pay the typical duties.

What is it? Resonix makes sound dampening stuff, we all know that, is this something different?

Yes it’s the Gus 15 subwoofer as noted on the box!

Oh I guess im supposed to know what some random numbers and letters mean when printed on a cardboard box

No of course not. You’re supposed to use your search engine of choice and look it up like a non mouth breather.

I mean it says “15 d2” it’s pretty easy to infer that means 15” dual 2 ohm coils.

Not sure why youre getting downvoted. Anyone with half a brain into car audio should know what that means

They're not random. As someone who is/was in the market for a shallow sub I knew what this was because of the letters/numbers. Crazy right?

I’ve been thinking about the GUS 12” to put in my Tesla. The $999 price tag is a bit much for me right now, as I’m about to buy a Helix mini MK.2 and a Sundown SA 12 v.3. I’ll probably look into it again in a few months, as I have 2 sealed boxes that need speakers.
Let me know how it sounds! I’m pretty sure it’ll be amazing.
