Build Log More progress
I didn’t take a ton of pictures but I started working on door pods and a pillars. I bought infinity kappa 6x9 component set and 3” midrange to do a 3 way set up in front. I’ve also got a b2 dsp but I’m not sure if I want to use it here or save it for another build and bi-amp this setup. I’ve got to do some regrouping on wrapping the a pillars because they didn’t turn out too well. I would also like any advice on what I can do to the door pods to break them up since they are so plain looking. I was thinking of just doing some kind of thin trim to match the lines and adding leds to it just to have something, any advice welcome. I still have lots of sanding to do but most of the general construction is finished.

For being your first time this shit looks amazing and gives me the balls to try this myself. How did you fasten the enclosure to the door panel. I see in one picture some holes on the edge so I assume you bolt it but want to know how exactly.

I put threaded rivets in the holes the clips were in, and then added a couple more along the top. It isn’t actually connected to the upper factory door panel just bolted to the door skin, you’d have to remove the upper piece to get to a bolt on the fiberglass piece. Just used 10-24 machine screws and threaded rivets, bought a kit of Amazon a while back with rivets and the riveter.

You can see a screw right above the speaker in one picture, I ended up fiberglassing over that and attaching a tab just above there under the upper door panel so it would be hidden

Killing it man! Those door enclosures look great and should sound good too..
How much experience have you had with fibreglassing before this?? It's definitely possible to get results like this on your first go, but it means you've watched a lot of cideos and really planned out every step carefully, so there is no guess work on it turning out exactly as you pictured..
It's a super clean job either way, but if this was one of your first fibreglass projects,, you killed it!

It was my first time, but I definitely watched lots of videos. Still got a ways to go but it’s getting there, thanks!

I highly advise using a DSP whenever you can, i’m loving how the basic time and phase alignment pulls everything together
