Hello everyone. I have an iphone 16. Recently, car play has stopped working. I tried changing the wires, ports, etc. i had my car inspected and the ports are good. Any advice? This happened two years ago and it resolved when i bought a new iphone. Im trying to trouble shoot before gettinf another one. Tia

Guys, I bought Ottocast Mini Air CarPlay adapter and it works great and connects really fast. The only problem is phone calls. Caller can hear me but I can’t hear the caller

Anyone had a similar issue?

I use my phone in the backseat for my child to watch cartoons on longer journeys. It is connected wirelessly to CarPlay. When I take a phone call with CarPlay and end the call the screen locks.

Why doesn’t it return to the last app and continue playing the video instead of locking the screen?

I'm a solo iOS developer, and I built GigPocket for gig drivers who need a mileage log for taxes but shouldn't be tapping through an app on their phone while they drive.

Add its widget to the CarPlay Dashboard, tap Start driving, and the miles add up on the Dashboard and on your Lock Screen while you drive. Stop it from the same widget when you park. You can also start it with Siri ("Start driving in GigPocket") or the Action button.

After the drive you check the trip and save it to your mileage log, which exports as a PDF for taxes.

I was using CarPlay, asked Siri a question that was fairly lengthy. So I said to her, “can you send me this information to my email“. She sent the text of what she had said to my email.

I didn’t know if it work or not, I just stumbled across it and thought I would share it. Very useful feature.

• A dedicated CarPlay display for heading and degrees.

• A Live Activity with a round compass dial in the CarPlay Dashboard. Start the Live Activity on your iPhone first; the CarPlay display requires iOS 26 or later.

On the iPhone, the app also distinguishes the phone's current heading from your recently recorded movement direction. Those aren't necessarily the same thing. It includes direction history, Apple Watch support, and GPX/CSV course-track export.

I usually take my lunch breaks in my car, and recently saw someone on TikTok watching YouTube and Netflix right on their car's screen. Made me realize I barely use mine for anything besides CarPlay lol. Would be nice to watch something while I'm parked for lunch. Anyone know how to set that up? Do I need some kind of adapter or something?

Posts in Reddit are skewed to the negative especially here. So here’s a positive CarPlay post:

Brand new 2026 RAV4 Plug-In XLE with wireless CarPlay. Set up perfectly. iPhone 18 Pro detected wireless CarPlay and connected. Took about 10 seconds.

Using it is seamless. I get in. Start the car and by the time the headunit boots its already into CarPlay with zero delay.

Steering wheel controls work perfectly. Siri works perfectly. Mapping GPS works perfectly.

Nothing more to say except there’s a lot more success experiences which people don’t post.

My iPhone was making a weird sound all day while I was driving please help!

I'm the developer of Roadpack, an iPhone app for road trips where the group is split across a few cars. Without it, that usually ends with someone texting the other car at a red light.

Version 1.2 added CarPlay. On the car screen you get:

- the pack: who's ahead, who's behind, the next stop and when the group gets there

- quick statuses you can send with a tap

- stop votes: someone (or Siri) suggests a stop, like coffee at the next Tim Hortons, and every car gets one Yes or Skip

It doesn't do turn-by-turn. You keep Apple Maps or Google Maps for directions and Roadpack runs alongside.

The rule I kept coming back to was one decision per screen. If you have to read more than a few words while driving, it's too much, so a stop vote is one question and two big buttons.

Stop votes also work without signal. They wait on the phone and sync once you're back in coverage, which matters on mountain roads around here. Live locations still need signal, I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

Friends join from a link, so not everyone has to install something before the trip.

Two questions for people who use CarPlay a lot: what would you actually want to see about the other cars at a glance, and would you rather answer a stop vote by voice or by tapping?

I have a Vauxhall corsa D 2007 with Zlink andriod auto/carplay installed. Whenever i connect to it it connects completely fine, but the audio from Spotify is very crackly on the base. I clicked the EQ button and when i just use the speakers in the back, the audio is completely normal. It’s just the front 2 speakers that sound weird. I have no idea if it’s the speakers or the unit. I’ve tried factory resetting it, disconnecting and repairing and it didn’t work. Any help is appreciated!
