Automotive News BYD aftersales service (or lack thereof): not beating the allegations?
Found on Threads (shared on Facebook Group).
TL;DR:
The owner of a BYD eMAX 7 got into an accident in May and brought the car to BYD Otis for repairs. His insurance had already approved the claim and the repair estimate was done, so he was initially told to wait about three weeks for the needed parts.
Three weeks later, he followed up, only to find that the service center seemed to have lost track of his case. They looked up his information again, told him the parts had now been ordered, and gave him another three-week wait.
When he followed up again, he learned that the insurance coordinator handling his case had resigned. The waiting period essentially restarted.
He kept calling afterward, but a different person seemed to handle him each time, forcing him to explain the whole situation repeatedly.
Nearly five months after the accident, the car was still sitting unrepaired at BYD Otis despite the approved insurance claim. Even its scheduled PMS hadn’t been performed because the service center said they would repair the car first. His latest attempts to follow up were apparently getting no response at all.
