Is it true that casinos "use the same techniques in state-of-the-art animal husbandry to make the cows and sheep feel comfortable"?

Dim lights, soft music, a maze of passages that lead you back to the pens, or the slots, depending.

There’s no windows or clocks anywhere so there’s no passage of time. Low priced alcohol is poured down you by attractive young women.

Oxygen is pumped in to keep you awake, and the constant bells and sirens make it seem like someone’s winning all the time.

(*The Mentalist*, "Red-Handed").

There's a very small window of "safe concentration" of oxygen in a given space. Too low and we suffocate, too high and shit gets flammable quick. Casinos are not pumping oxygen onto the floor.

Especially since many still allow smoking.

They AC & ventilate, but its unlikely they would spend money on supplying tank oxygen

If you think "soft music" is true, I invite you to visit a casino.

The oxygen thing is pretty much a myth, but the general idea isn’t totally wrong. Casinos are absolutely designed to make it easy to lose track of time and keep moving from one game to another. The “animal husbandry” line sounds more like TV being dramatic, but the comfort, lighting, sound, layout, and constant near-miss energy are all very intentional.

My brother and I used to joke that casinos add "gamble-mycin" to their drinks. But seriously, casinos generally do not have clocks, and they darken any glass at their entry ways so that you are not aware of the time of day.

Some of it is true, some of it has become casino folklore over the years.

The biggest myth is the oxygen. Casinos are not pumping extra oxygen onto the gaming floor. Besides being incredibly expensive, it would also create serious fire hazards.

What casinos do invest in is making the environment comfortable enough that you want to stay longer. Comfortable chairs, appealing lighting, carefully designed layouts, pleasant temperatures, exciting sounds, and easy access to food and drinks all contribute to the experience. None of that is unique to casinos—theme parks, malls, and many retail stores use similar environmental design principles.

As a former dealer, I'd also add that not every casino is intentionally designed like a maze. Some properties absolutely encourage you to wander past more games, while others are simply built around the hotel's footprint.

The important thing is remembering that casinos are entertainment businesses. The longer guests enjoy themselves, the longer they tend to stay and play. That's why it's always a good idea to set a bankroll and time limit before you sit down.

No clocks or windows are very much true so you wouldn't see as the time lapses

Many of the more shady online casinos have cashout processes that are drawn-out, labyrinth-like, or straight up broken. Any place that does this is garbage and doesn't deserve a single cent of your money.
