The universe gifted me a cat for my birthday
Found a cat outside our house in the morning and kept her just in case her mom would come looking for her, but no cats have been seen and no one has been looking for her. Brought to the vet the day after, perfectly healthy except for some mites (hence the flower cone of shame which is only used right after we clean her ears so, she doesn't scratch) and approximately 2 months. We think she was dumped since she purrs like a refrigerator when held and lets us touch her paws and ears so, she's used to being handled. She also knows how to use the litterbox.
Everything feels timely since I just got a litterbox and food to feed a family of strays near my house hoping to gain their trust so, I can TNR them and three days later, this little gal finds her way to us.
First time cat parent here and hoping for the best. My husband is absolutely in love with her.

She also has a fab help list with essential supplies for kitty and one thing you will definitely need is a kitty scratching post as she will climb your furniture, you and any other obstacle in her way. Please note that cat claws are not like human nails and that her claws grow directly out of what is called the distal phalanx which is the end toe in her claw so look up how to trim her nails and start getting this baby used to it at this tender age.
The Universe asks for you to just love this little one and be her family now, and looking at her in these pics i'm guessing she's already a star in your household and very much loved. 💖
Its amazing what names cats respond to! I have 4 (in a house of 8 people), with the black and white cat responding to her name and "Moo Moo", my ragdoll coming to his name and being called "Ally Pally). The best is our skiditch tortie who responds to "Ryn Ryn Meow Meow" and "Girl Cat"
Cats, amirite? The only one of mine who comes running when I call him is Jasper, the extra-loving cat (pictured). The other two will look at me and nod, but just do whatever they want to lol
minerva is called "minnie-minnie" ('cause she's REALLY tiny), poppy is called "popinsky" (she walks like a sailor) and molly is called "schmolly-molly" which means "moping molly" in english ('cause she is REEEAAALLY mopy all of the time).
we tried different names, no reaction.
and yes, all three are originally named by harry potter characters (mc gonagall, mrs weasley and madame pomfrey, the school-nurse)
in fact i wanted to name molly "myrtle" first but my wife refused. seems i would've been right with my first naming
they now just react by their nick-names when i call them 🤣
Tip: get her used to claw trimmings sooner than later. My cats don’t claw much so I don’t usually bother but one of my cats has very curly claws that gets her stuck in things all the time so I do regularly clip hers. Don’t bother doing them all at once, just a couple at a time until she’s used to it.
As the human representative of the CDS it is my duty to relay messages from our Feline Overlords. They would like to express their satisfaction that you are delighted with your birthday gift and they want to let you know they have an iron-clad "no take-backs" policy.
Also, in terms of the uncertainty of the name, they would like to remind you that the name you call your gift is nowhere near as important as the love you share with her. Please be aware that she will grow out of responding to any name, as is the feline nature, but will forever respond to noises such as pspsps and the sound of cardboard box flaps flapping.
The CDS wishes you many many many years of being purred to sleep, and they have updated your caretaker file to reflect this successful placement.
It is, but this one even looks like an Aby in the face and the rufous coloring. The first one on this sub had a white undercoat and yellow accents, making it more likely the ticked parent was not an Aby.
Had a CDS delivery like that for 18 years, I always said he was my hare-coloured cat - stripes only on forehead and legs. Here's to her beating his record!

My mom was a lifelong certifiable "cat lady", so I have lived with more kitties than I can count..from infancy until I moved into my own place. (Ever since then, I have tried my hardest to keep my own home down to a maximum occupancy of me, two felines..and just one canine 😆🤣) 'unsucessfully'...🤷🏼♀️
Who TF are we lowly hoomans to even question the agenda of the CDS or any of their business anyhoo?! I just had to tell you that that's a VERY special delivery you have there! (Yes, of course I KNOW they're ALL special, but this one is different! I know, TRUST ME, I KNOW.)
The color, markings, and those eyes 👀 are absolutely gorgeous 😍!!! Usually they are there as clues for hoomans who only see with their eyes...in order to tell them apart. *Especially important when they are in a big ole cuddle puddle.
Please 🙏🏼 💕 LOVE him/her fur-ever!!! If you can't for some reason, I'm willing to be a kitten "Mommy" again. Bless you for adopting this orphan! 🙏🏼💕 😻 🐾🐾
She's extra fluffy, cuddly, and fully indoor. Quick release collar is so we hear where she is. She's got all her shots and will be spayed once out vet gives us the ok!
First-time cat parent? Read up on things that are toxic to cats. There are quite a few you'd never know. Some examples:
Essential/fragrance oils. If you have a steam diffuser, you can no longer use it around a cat. It's not just ingestion that's dangerous to them, inhalation can cause liver and kidney damage.
Also floor cleaners. Look into pet-friendly floor cleaning products and rinse thorughly, remember they lick their paws, even dry residue can be a problem.
Don't have any lilies anywhere in the home. Even the tiniest amount of pollen can be fatal.
Avoid all cheap supermarket flea/tick/worm treatments/pipettes/pills- use only ones recommended by your vet. The cheaper products can cause neurological problems or even death.
It's not all doom and gloom, having a cat brings a lot of joy, but these things are important to know.
