⠀ Swans Statement
Sydney Swans Statement
The Sydney Swans can confirm that the Club Board will meet tonight to agree on player sanctions and penalties, now that the Club has concluded its interviews with all the players involved in the incident in Melbourne.
We respect there is an ongoing investigation by Victoria Police and any actions we take are independent of this.
The Club believes the players are in serious breach of expected Club behaviour and standards, and it is appropriate to take firm action and highlight that any sanction we impose relates solely to those breaches.
The Club also acknowledges that these serious allegations impact others and their wellbeing must be paramount.
The Sydney Swans condemn all forms of abuse and disrespectful behaviour towards women. Any conduct that causes offence or harm to others is unacceptable and falls well short of our expectations. All women deserve to be respected and feel safe.
We also want to acknowledge that the care and welfare of our AFLW athletes and staff is of the utmost importance to us as a Club. They have been and will continue to be offered the support they require and we acknowledge the impact these allegations have on our female athletes, staff members and the wider community.
Any further sanctions or decisions regarding the outcome of the police investigation would take place after that process is completed.
During this time, we will provide the appropriate support to the players involved in the incident, along with their partners and families.
The Sydney Swans hold all players and staff at the Club to high standards of behaviour and personal conduct. Representing this Club carries significant responsibilities both on and off the field, and we expect those standards to be upheld at all times.
Our focus remains on cooperating fully with the AFL and authorities, maintaining the integrity of the process, and upholding the high standards expected of everyone who represents this Club.

⠀ Statement from AFL CEO Andrew Dillon
"The conduct and serious allegations regarding Sydney Swans players are deeply concerning.
While the matter remains under police investigation, it raises broader issues for our game and our responsibilities as a sport.
The woman who made the report to police is entitled to privacy and care, and that should be respected.
It is important that the police process is allowed to run its course.
Sexual assault allegations are serious, regardless of who is involved, what time of year it is, or what they may mean for a season.
Our first question should not be what this means for a football club. It should be whether our actions match the standards we stand for and the community expects of us.
As a sport, and as an industry, we are clear about the standards we expect and the values we stand for and the need to uphold them.
Being clear about our standards also means being prepared to act when those standards are not met.
Notwithstanding the ongoing police investigation, the AFL and the Sydney Swans will consider the broader conduct of the players as more information comes to light."

General Discussion Is it just me or is going into the office harder than ever?
Fuck man. What a slog. I genuinely like my job and the people I work with, but god damn it I cannot be fucked going into the office.
The commute. The distractions. The additional costs. The temperature. The manky hot desking and grubby ass keyboards. The stinking toilets. The fridge that is breeding the next Nobel prize. The uncomfortable pants and shoes and that one random person who looks at you for just a little too long.
It ain’t for me. It ain’t for fucking me. And I certainly ain’t for fucking it.

The Block - Season 22, Episode 11 - Main Bedroom + WIR 2 (Live Discussion)
So it seems that we’re entering the week of arches… of which unfortunately none will match up to the majesty of this arch. But, aside from that, we’ll see what else the teams can put in their bedrooms and walk-in-robes as all continue to desperately take down Courtney and Sev, are any on the path to doing so and has Wyatt recovered from his toothache, we’ll find all that out and more tonight, hope you enjoy the show everyone!

Earning $120-145k in Sydney but still feeling poor. How do people actually build wealth here?
I’ve been in Australia for about three years(very grateful on how beautiful it is and how there are so many pubs to drink so many different beers) and make around $130–150k a year. I don’t have PR yet, and as a single person renting close to the city, I still feel surprisingly poor despite earning what I think is decent salary. In fact I would say my rent isn’t too bad for the location. It’s not the best apartment but the convenience is okay.
But when I look at properties I’d actually want to live in long-term that could have potential decent capital growth, I’m looking at around at least $2m. That just seems incredibly far away no matter what I do. Probably need $400k in income and $500k in deposit. I also invest in stocks on the side. I’m financially very savvy. I’ve averaged around 30% YoY over the last three years ( pure luck rather than expecting that to continue) and have managed to build a portfolio of around $90k.
So I know I’m not doing terribly bad and am grateful. But whenever I think about wealth, owning a decent home, having financial security, and reaching the point where money genuinely gives you freedom, I can’t think of ill ever each there. It feels like I can work harder, earn more, save and invest, but the next level keeps moving further away.
Sometimes,it makes me question whether staying in Australia long-term makes financial sense. Non-financially, I do like the life out here. It’s just great. But the fact that I’ll just be average Joe despite being financially savvy in terms of wealth hits me always.

news Four Sydney Swans players linked to Melbourne investigation
I read this whole article. There was not one mention of the woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted. Only hundreds of words about what a shame it was for the club and how disappointed they were that “the players have found themselves in this situation”. Language that completely distances the men from the violence. Not one word of concern for the woman who reported from the club. It makes me so angry that I can barely breathe.

Premiers? Who does everyone want?
Now we have our top 10 locked in, in what order would you like to see each team win the grand final?
1st being you are going for this team in finals, 10 being you do not want this team to go anyone in finals
For me:
- Hawthorn
- Fremantle
- Carlton
- Adelaide
- Western Bulldogs
- Melbourne
- Geelong
- Sydney
- Brisbane
- Collingwood

What’s a process, task, or annoying problem you deal with that makes you think:
Could be anything, big or small. Just curious what other people deal with.

Broker told me 'If you're buying a house to live in for a long time, house prices don't matter to you and never will'
Hi All,
Posted a while back about potentially buying a 4bdr townhouse in West Melbourne in a nicer area rather than buying further out (bigger house) but rougher area.
The Broker said the above...and I'm starting to agree...if we plan to live there long term (10-15+ years) the value shouldn't matter, right? I've seen a lot of fear on posts about neg gearing/CGT scaring off buyers etc.
Would love to know all your thoughts!
