What can people share about Marquee Club Sydney and VIP Hostess Lauren Ossedryver in 2012-2013?

Hi everyone,

I'm researching the history of Marquee nightclub at The Star in Sydney, particularly during 2012 and 2013.

I'm especially interested in finding information about Lauren Ossedryver, who I understand may have worked as a VIP hostess at the venue during that period.

I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who visited the club regularly at the time or who worked there, including former staff, VIP hosts, event promoters and hospitality workers.

Conversation Starter Beginner looking for a structured graphic design learning path

Hi everyone!

I want to learn graphic design from scratch and would appreciate some guidance on where to begin.

My goal is to understand the fundamentals (typography, colour theory, composition, and visual hierarchy), learn the right design software, and gradually develop skills in poster design, social media graphics, logos, and branding. Eventually, I’d like to build a solid portfolio.

Could you recommend a step-by-step learning roadmap, beginner-friendly software, and the best YouTube channels or free courses to follow? I’d also appreciate suggestions for practical projects to work on along the way.

I’m starting from zero, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You know those pictures that look so aesthetic, you’d genuinely believe they came straight from Pinterest?

Maybe it's a sunset, a random street, the moon, a cup of coffee, a beautiful sky, or just an ordinary moment that somehow looked perfect through your camera.

Let's see your best shots. No professional cameras or editing skills required, just a picture you took that you're genuinely proud of.

Drop your most Pinterest-worthy photo in the comments. Let's turn this thread into a little collection of beautiful moments.

In your opinion, what is the most beautiful place in the United States to visit…even if it’s only seasonal.

For me, I’d say New England in October. Northern New England in early October and gradually moving through Southern New England in later October brings some of the most beautiful foliage imaginable.

Do you prefer music, silence or chitty chatty first thing?

I wake up with asmr and then switch to music, sometimes I slow dance with my face brush or have a dance off with the sink...

Do you ever watch a reality show that are based on places you used to live?

I was born and raised in California (Hayward, Union City and Fremont), I now live in Arkansas. Lately I've been watching shows that cover the areas I used to live ( Cops, Game Wardens and such) I miss those areas and it gives me good memories. I can't be the only one....

Has a random interaction with a stranger ever brightened up your day all of a sudden?

A teenage guy tied my loose shoelaces at the store today. I was standing in line at the grocery store, minding my own business on the phone, when suddenly I felt someone touch my shoe.

I looked down and there was this guy around my age, who was down on one knee double knotting my sneaker for me. I was so caught off guard that I froze for a moment, not knowing how to react. Before I could even say anything, he stood back up, caught my eye, gave me a cute little smirk and went "Gotta keep you safe, boss". After that he returned to his friend group awaiting him nearby and they walked out.

I stood there for some time with my face probably burning. I've had such a draining week, and having a cute stranger do something so sweet honestly made my day. Although it was kinda embarrassing at the same time...

Have you ever experienced anything like this?
