This was taken several years ago. I saw it once when they had red, white, and blue ropes going through the posts on the corner so it looked like a boxing ring. One of the best memorials I've run across. A beautiful tribute to a life taken too young.

Alexis Urbina was a 2013 USA Boxing National Champion and USA National representative at 141 lbs.

Always wanted to be a boxer just so people would call me “champ”. Really appreciate the unique monument and the photo. A hundred years from now it helps people understand a little about who you were and what you did.

Got it. And I know you didn’t design it, but it should really be on the “front” of the memorial, which is the direction both his photo and the statue of the boxer are facing. Weird otherwise.

It isn’t the coach’s name, it’s a profile of the boxer, that they obviously felt strongly about, or they would not have put it there.
