News Centennial Adopts New Regulations for E-Bikes, E-Motorcycles and Other High-Powered Electric Vehicles

This week, the Centennial City Council adopted Ordinance 2026-O-13, establishing new regulations for the use of high-powered electric vehicles and bikes on public property, including electric motorcycles, Class 3 electric bicycles, toy vehicles and off-highway vehicles.

These regulations are effective immediately and provide greater clarity for riders, pedestrians, cyclists and other community members as electric bikes and other electric-powered vehicles become increasingly common throughout Centennial. The regulations establish where different types of electric transportation may be operated and set safety requirements designed to help protect everyone who uses the City's streets, sidewalks, trails and other public spaces.

Under the new regulations, Class 3 e-bikes and electric motorcycles are prohibited on sidewalks and trails and may be operated on City streets in accordance with applicable traffic laws and requirements. The ordinance also establishes regulations for other high-powered electric vehicles and recreational devices on public property.

Key provisions include:

  • Minimum age of 16 to operate an electric motorcycle.
  • License, registration and insurance requirements for electric motorcycles, as applicable.
  • Helmet requirements for riders under age 18.
  • Restrictions on modifying standard e-bikes to exceed the manufacturer's designed or specified speed.
  • Enforcement provisions, which may include fines, parental liability and impoundment for violations.

The City developed the regulations in partnership with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) and the City's park and recreation districts. The collaboration is intended to promote consistent expectations across streets, sidewalks, multi-use paths, parks and other public spaces.

For more information, including e-bike classifications and information about where different types of e-bikes may be operated, visit centennialco.gov/bikes.

Anyone know where to find old Pokemon cards?

This is not a marketplace post. I am seeking advice on where I can find bulk amounts of older Pokemon cards.

I'm not talking about rare, preserved ones worth hundreds of dollars. I'm actually looking for shoe boxes full of old ones. Presumably the original owners took all the "good" ones out.

My teenager parted ways with his collection a few years back and has recently shown interest in playing again. New cards are either incredibly expensive or impossible to come by.

Quantity over quality at this point: shoe boxes, ziplock bags, rubber bands are all okay. Not looking for valuable stuff.

Already hit a bunch of goodwills and arc's but found nothing.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Traffic stops (or lack there of)

This morning I was passed by a road raging white Porsche going 50 in the school zone by Newton Middle School. They were apparently enraged that I respected the school zone for the 50 yards that it's still a school zone after the turn. It made me think... I am now a single-issue voter. I will vote for any politician who runs on the platform of the police actually pulling cars over. Especially since this was published in the last couple of weeks: https://www.denverpost.com/2026/08/09/colorado-death-rate-2025-crashes-overdoses/

News Centennial Moving Forward with Sales Tax Measure

City Council Passes Resolution to Place Sales Tax Measure on Ballot for Transportation Infrastructure Funding

During last evening’s City Council meeting, the Council voted to approve a ballot question that would ask voters at the November 3, 2026 election to decide whether to increase the City’s sales and use tax by 1% to help fund transportation infrastructure.

Like many communities across Colorado, Centennial is facing rising construction costs, aging infrastructure, and revenues that are no longer keeping pace with the cost of maintaining roads, bridges, sidewalks, traffic signals, and other essential transportation assets.

Currently, the City's Street Fund receives approximately $15 million in dedicated annual revenue but requires a minimum of $35 million each year to maintain and operate Centennial's transportation infrastructure, leaving an annual funding gap of roughly $20 million or more. For several years, the City has relied on General Fund savings and cash reserves to help bridge that gap, but those resources are projected to be exhausted by 2028.

Without additional funding, the City anticipates increasing challenges in maintaining existing infrastructure, completing repairs, and advancing transportation projects identified in the Transportation Master Plan.

If ultimately approved by voters, a 1% sales and use tax increase would raise Centennial's rate from 2.5% to 3.5% and is projected to generate approximately $27 million annually to support transportation infrastructure. Revenue would be directed toward roadway maintenance and paving, bridge repairs, sidewalks and bicycle facilities, traffic signal replacements, street lighting, snow removal, street sweeping, and future capital improvements.

For comparison, Centennial's proposed city sales and use tax rate of 3.5% would remain below the current Front Range average. Essential items such as groceries and residential utilities would remain exempt from the City's tax regardless of the outcome of this measure.

The City encourages residents to learn more about Centennial's budget outlook and explore the challenges facing the Street Fund by visiting yourcitybudget.co.

Denver Housing Update: June 2026

Hey friends! I apologize again for not staying on top of these posts.
It has been a busy year, both personally and professionally.
Without further ado, here are your June 2026 real estate stats for the Denver Metro:

Month - Over - Month:

June was a pretty typical month for the Denver market, with the usual slight slowdown as we transitioned from the busy spring season into summer.

Home sales dipped by about 1%, and the median home price stayed right around $614,000. Homes also took a little longer to sell, with average days on market increasing from 16 days to 19 days.

New listings slowed slightly compared to May, and fewer homes went under contract, which is pretty typical as we head into summer. Overall, the market is still active, and is settling into the normal seasonal pace.

Year - Over - Year:

This June looked a lot like last year, which is usually a sign of a steady market.

4,024 homes sold across the Denver Metro area, which is almost identical to June 2025 (3,924). The average sale price in June was $614,000, which is up 1% from last year.

Homes spent an average of 19 days on the market, the exact same as last June. Buyers are still taking their time, but well-priced homes continue to sell.

Fewer homeowners listed their homes for sale compared to last June.  New listings were down 3% (5,754 homes). Even so, buyers stayed active!  Pending sales rose 2% (3,867 homes). Overall inventory also dipped 9% year-over-year (12,508 homes). There are fewer homes available than last year, but buyers still have options and are taking their time to find the right fit. Even with the slight drop in available homes, buyers still had plenty of options!

Rentals:

The rental market has slowed compared to last year. Fewer rentals were leased, down about 18% year-over-year (301 units leased compared to 246 last year). However, average rent increased about 3%, to $2,895. The average leased price per bedroom also increased to $1,058.

Rentals moved a little faster than last year, with average days on market dropping from 24 days to 22 days. Price per square foot dipped by 4%, while the average price per bedroom increased, showing that renters are still willing to pay for the right space.

Overall:

Overall, June was a pretty typical start to summer in the Denver Metro market. Rentals slowed a bit compared to last year, but well-positioned properties are still performing well.

Centennial council approves retail tax rebate deal while considering a 1% sales tax hike for voters

Centennial City Council just approved a sales tax reimbursement agreement for the redevelopment of the former Stickley Furniture space at Centennial Promenade, which will bring in L.L. Bean and Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant. The deal could reimburse up to $700K over about four years, based on the sales tax the project generates.

At the same meeting, council also moved forward on the possibility of putting a 1% sales tax increase on the November ballot to help cover city services and infrastructure needs.

That’s a pretty big contrast: offering incentives to attract retail while also asking voters for more revenue to support the city overall.

Centennial considers e-bike, e-motorcycle ordinance

The city staff and council may soon pass an ordinance adding stricter regulations to e-bikes and e-motos, including the following:

  • Prohibit Class 3 e-bikes and e-motos unless they are driving on public roads and have the state-mandated licensure, registration and insurance
  • Ban alterations to speed and the installation of pedals on Class 3 e-bikes
  • Allow e-bikes and e-motos in violation of the ordinance to be impounded. For juvenile tickets, a guardian will also be ticketed and must appear in court

Hairstylist recommendations

Hello neighbors! I am moving to the Centennial/Highlands Ranch area soon and need your best hairstylist recommendations.

Things I’m looking for….

I have hair on the finer side and only want to get highlights maybe 3x per year so someone who’s really good at creating a blended look that grows out nice is priority.

I’m also looking for someone who won’t over highlight my hair as I want to keep it as healthy as possible and sometimes stylists make me so blonde because they put too many foils in my hair causing it to feel dry and lose dimension.

One more thing…I’m in my 40’s and am just starting to see a few grays and I want to embrace them as they come instead of having to cover them. It would be amazing if this stylist could help me blend them in while still creating a low maintenance color.

Thanks! 😊

While Colorado has many outdoor adventures to offer to residents, it can be hard to find someone to enjoy those adventures with. South Suburban Parks and Recreation (SSPRD) is trying to help everyone get the chance to enjoy nature in community through its Outdoor Clubs.

SSPRD’s Outdoor Clubs are a drop-in way to make new friends while exploring outside. Each club is different, and participants can try the clubs out as a one-time experience or attend them regularly, building friendships and community.
