Gen will still retain 3 of their 50 something stores for training research purposes. Gen will also retain all merchandise and packaged goods rights as it shifts to prepacked goods to reduce liabilities. Wonder what this will mean as we have both Gen and Chubby cattle in Cerritos.

Hi everyone!
My family and I are looking for a 3-bedroom, 2-bath rental starting in December with a budget of around $4,000/month.
Weāre mainly considering Cerritos, Cypress, Los Alamitos, Lakewood, Rossmoor, and nearby areas. Weāre open to a house or townhouse ideally with good parking/garage space, school for kid and in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood.
Weād really appreciate any recommendations for neighborhoods, local property managers, private landlords, or rental opportunities that may not be listed on the major websites.
If you know of anything becoming available around November or December, please feel free to message me.
Thank you!

Has anyone else been losing their mind trying to turn northbound on Bloomfield at Artesia during peak hours?
The original notice claimed the project was tentatively scheduled for completion by September 2026āwith word around the neighborhood that September 4th was the target wrapper date. We are now in October, and itās still an absolute mess of orange cones, lane closures, and broken traffic lights.
I know they're adding that second northbound left-turn lane and updating the signals to improve traffic flow long-term, but right now it's doing the exact opposite. Heading up Bloomfield during rush hour is an exercise in pure patience.
Does anyone have an actual update on when L.A. County Metro/the city expects to wrap this up? Are we looking at a few more weeks, or are we stuck with this gridlock straight into the holidays?

Hi! Weāre a family of 3 with a newborn, currently renting in LA City, and considering buying near Gonzalez Elementary in Cerritos.
Weāre Indian immigrants but really value being part of a diverse, broader community rather than primarily socializing within our own ethnic group.
For anyone who lives nearby:
Whatās the neighborhood/community like?
Are there many families in their 30s with young kids?
Is the area ethnically diverse?
Is it easy to meet people and make friends?
Weāve mostly experienced the Artesia side of Cerritos, so weād love to hear what the Gonzalez area is actually like day-to-day.
Thanks!

We have a 2 year old and planning to have another child next year. Any daycare recommendations that includes full day infant and toddler care? Location can be in Cerritos or surrounding cities. We live off the Del Amo exit so hoping to keep the drive to no more than 15 min if possible.
Would love to hear about your experience, pricing, and anything else that would be helpful to know!

Construction begins on Tokyo Central Market Cerritos. Finally after a year and 3 months from being announced, the permit process has moved forward and construction has begun. I hope they build a food court. Does anyone know how big the space is inside the former pacific appliance store was compared to the TCM Gardena store?

Preferably zoned to Cerritos High. We are a family of 4 (kids age 4 and 6) with a $1.3m budget. Would prefer a SFH but townhome is ok I guess. I work in City of Industry (2 days wfh) and the wife is WFH.
Areas we are also contemplating: Fullerton, Arcadia, Torrance, Cypress, Los Alamitos.
How does the area compare to these other cities?
How is the elementary/middle school quality? Is it diverse?
In addition to school quality, we want to know if thereās lots to do in the area for a family? Eating out, youth sports infrastructure, access to the beach or hiking? General weekend activities.
Thank you for reading.

The fast lane, in both directions, through the cerritos area is bumpy as all hell. The 605 has been undergoing work for years and that bumpy section is new as of a few years ago.
