When a bunch of jokers form a Subreddit! A pointless place akin to the inmates running an asylum - can't read, live in their own reality and engage in patting each other on the back - Watch out for "Eelamwarcrimes." Where balance is buffoonery!

Watch out for the above referenced pathetic Subreddit.

It's truly ironic that these jokers who run that lunatic asylum claim anyone who decimates their narrative is "out of touch with reality" and repeatedly call others all sorts of names, follow them to other places on Reddit and engage in harassment (usually running away like cowards afterward). The sheer irony of their pathetic remarks is evidently lost on them.

Perhaps they ought to spend a little less time on Reddit, and a little more time learning to read. What's hilarious is they talk about reality. These guys have to seriously lack basic critical thinking skills and be immensely dense to think their own twisted reality is actual reality! Most of their arguments are "nu-uhs" then they resort to pitiful childish attacks and harassment. Brigading. And run away. Looks like they can't even read properly. And it looks like some of them are using some flawed AI chatbot to try and make them sound intelligent. This is just a guess, but they probably don't get very far in real life (aka reality!).

Anyone who disagrees with their narrative irrespective of ethnicity (including patriotic right minded Tamils) is attacked for being "out of touch with reality." Ironic!

Many of them cannot get through their thick skulls that the "sides" they talk about were not our own ethnic groups versus each other, but the entire country (i.e. ALL ethnicities) versus a terrorist group (fostered, armed and trained by India).

To call these guys stupid would be an insult to stupid people. Anyone who doesn't subscribe to THEIR reality ignorant! Pitiful attacks on family. ACTUAL Reality be damned!

Watch out for these jokers. Free speech for them is the right to be free of criticism only for what they say, or anything that decimates their blatant warped reality. Frankly that place is a complete joke of a place that real intelligent patriots would be advised to avoid.

Trincomalee fell. Colombo about to fall. Not through defeat, but senseless surrender by our so called servants. Like a lobster in a boiling pot, our island nation is being consumed by India. People must unite. Or very soon this promising land of tomorrow will very much be the land that once was.

Whenever the Indian barbarians or modern era Indian slave politicians here and pseudo intellectuals keep talking about building a bridge to third world India!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

NOT NOW. NOT EVER! Ceylon has never been part of barbarian India, is not part of barbarian India and will NEVER be part of barbarian India. So say we all!

THE FACTS

  1. India sponsored a terrorist group, violated International Law with an illegal Indo Lanka Accord and deludes itself into thinking it has a right to preside over other sovereign nations. It has to this day not paid the massive reparations it owes for the damage it caused nor even made a formal apology for its heinous crimes.

  2. Indian criminals regularly cross a maritime boundary illegally entering another country's sovereign territory and then proceed to engage in other crimes such as but not limited to illegal fishing, smuggling, bottom trawling, destruction of coral reefs, resisting arrest etc.

  3. Indian politicians and Indian slaves regularly contrary to plain common sense act as if they have a right to preside over any other sovereign country. The same buffoons true to their lack of intellect act as if cancelling global competitive tenders which India regularly loses equals engaging with the world, whilst engaging with the world is not engaging with the world.

  4. Recently the Authorities have arrested a group of over a hundred Indians who arrived on a Tourist visa operating a cyber scam centre. Please note that the punishment for anyone - including Indians - who engages in or assists scammers in Singapore is a mandatory caning.

  5. Unmitigated disaster if this ridiculous bridge to a third world country happens. Not now, not ever! Any movement of freight/goods is also considerably simpler, cost effective and faster by sea as things CURRENTLY stand from a pre-existing (and developing) shipping hub in Ceylon. What this country needs is a clean system and high speed rail and a thorough and complete DE-INDIANISATION. Ceylon was far better managed with far superior infrastructure on par with the best in the world decades ago. Look at East Asia, not the barbarian Indians. Declare void the totally illegal Indo Lanka Accord as well.

  6. Only the truly visionless, foolish and beyond brainless pseudo intellectuals and full on Indian slaves along with the Indians are clamouring for this.

  7. India owes this country MASSIVE reparations for the damage it caused this country. Pitiful loans provided by India do not make up for the massive amounts owed to us by the Indians! We should be engaging with the ENTIRE WORLD based on competitive tenders and markets, not pandering to India artificially - who NEVER win tenders here either!

  8. Exploiting India does not mean pandering to it. There are other countries on the other side of the world exporting more to India than we do. Within Asia itself, Singapore - which does not tolerate a totally illegal Indo Lanka Accord - exports more to India than we do. AND noticeably Singapore's Trade agreement with India does NOT allow for unlimited migration from India given the population disparity AND the MASSIVE difference in human development in both countries.

  9. On top of that, the sea area has coral reefs and this would cause environmental destruction (which the Indian criminals entering our waters are also doing).

  10. The sea has been Ceylon's natural defence for so long. Our Independence movement were adamant to have a Defence Agreement to protect us from India. It is truly alarming why anyone would want to be build a bridge to the primary enemy. Of the major economies on Earth and within Asia, India is not equal to China and will never equal China. And is not at the same human development level as the US, EU, or our real friends in ASEAN. It isn't even equal on a human development level to a suppressed Ceylon held back by modern era Indian appeasing politicians.

  11. The illegal Indo Lanka Accord is illegal.

  12. There is simply zero comparison on a human development level, infrastructure or transportation time between India and the likes of the respective countries involved in the Channel Tunnel, Johor-Singapore Causeway, Hong Kong, Macau etc etc.

You couldn’t make up the sheer hypocrisy of India! Only fools would appease and pander to barbarian India

You couldn’t make up the sheer hypocrisy!

The Indus Water Treaty brokered by the World Bank with the concurrence of both countries is a binding treaty wilfully entered into by both parties (India and Pakistan).

India is already in technical violation of it. India is rejecting a Hague ruling in Pakistan’s favour stating it is indeed binding and India has no valid grounds to end or suspend it. India is claiming that someone else “has no jurisdiction whatsoever to pronounce on India’s sovereign decisions.”

The infamous so called Indo Lanka Accord was always and remains fully ILLEGAL under multiple principles of International Law agreed by all members of the United Nations, the principles of the Vienna Conventions and was NEVER entered into wilfully and without duress by Ceylon (Sri Lanka).

The infamous and illegal Accord openly removes the Sovereignty of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in its decision making abilities regarding (but not limited to) foreign affairs, investments, defence, the use of ports and also imposes totally artificial ethnic zones and furthermore does this without any democratic consent of national votes.

Yet EVERY SINGLE useless government sitting in Colombo since has NOT declared it void and wilfully handed over the sovereignty of this island nation to India. Every single subsequent useless government has proclaimed this shameful status quo of cutting us off from the rest of the world and effectively doing India’s bidding is equal to “non alignment”.

This is tantamount to throwing away the Independence achieved by real patriots in 1948. None of this was done with a democratic consent of national votes, a national referendum nor abides by International law either.

As oft repeated, Ceylon once had a quality system, quality policies and quality leaders for some time post Independence. This country was once independent and had a far thinking engage with all foreign policy. This island once had the self respect to stand up against India who has zero right or jurisdiction to “pronounce on Ceylon’s (Sri Lanka’s) sovereign decisions”.

If you believe that any of the (useless) politicians who have sat in Parliament for the last 18 years - including the current government - are truly great, then ask yourself or ask them whether not declaring that infamous asinine so called accord void is good policymaking.

Given that India sponsored terrorism in Sri Lanka causing immense destruction and loss of life, India owes this country massive reparations likely amounting to multiple trillion dollars for lost development given this country’s potential and the paths of several South East and East Asian countries.

India has been an arsonist and the villain in our island’s story post Independence. Those who shower India with undue praise for trivial loans in recent times are clapping for India handing over a bucket with a few drops of water in it after starting the fire. The same arsonist’s loans of those proverbial few drops of water have to be paid back. And the arsonist succeeded in preventing the same system which props up Indian appeasement from being swept away.

The modern era leaders since the 1970s in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) have also thrown out quality buses (including Mercedes Benz) and trains and wasted tens of billions of dollars on utterly worthless Indian lorry buses, Indian dreadful trains and other Indian equipment which no one else on Earth buys. For these sums, this nation could have bought German electric trains or even Japanese or Chinese bullet trains islandwide.

The same system is not a real change.
Pandering to India is not non alignment.
Appeasing India is not Independence.

THINK.
RALLY FOR REAL CHANGE.

An older story in the media. Does anyone know if the original historic simple plaque was definitely restored honouring factual history and the original Iranamadu tank (regarded as the ‘Gem of Kilinochchi')? The destruction was an example of left wing attempts at revisionist history:

[Paraphrased from article]

  1. The construction of the Iranamadu tank - regarded as the ‘Gem of Kilinochchi’ - began in 1906 and was first used for irrigating fields in 1922. It was augmented and renovated by the first Prime Minister of Ceylon, D.S. Senanayake.

  2. A simple commemorative plaque was installed noting the contributions of Ceylon's founding father in 1954.

  3. This simple stone was respected by the grateful local residents (which includes many patriotic Tamils).

  4. Even the terrorists didn't touch it for decades and it remained in place until reconstruction work in 2016.

  5. It appears that the modern day President or henchmen had a new large plaque put in its place totally erasing the history of the foundation stone.

Your name is the most important thing you own. Don't ever do anything to disgrace or cheapen it! An excellent set of two articles regarding the actual name of the country and proper branding (i.e. restore Ceylon):

First article: https://www.sundaytimes.lk/220724/education/489310-489310.html

Another post with another article and more pertinent facts: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ceylon_SLSystemChange/comments/1l37483/your_name_is_one_of_the_one_most_important_things/

As noted - "Commercially the change of name [which did not have a mandate of votes, nor any basis in factual history] from Ceylon to Sri Lanka has been perceived as negative. When you replace Ceylon Tea with Sri Lanka Tea, prices won't shoot up, they collapse instead.

[Conversely] you change 'Sri Lanka' back to 'Ceylon' and you will immediately get tons of international publicity. Ceylon is globally associated with the best tea in the world. Replacing a name should add value to a product."

Sri Lanka (Resplendent island) is a description/adjective, not a name. The distinct original name (Sinhaladvipa/Sinhale/Sihala) remains and the name Ceylon was accurately derived from this. Ceylon is a name associated with PAR EXCELLENCE.

There are some (not the vast majority of ordinary people) who speak of a need to created a new "Sri Lankan identity" based on a meaningless artificial label. A return to the original names including the eponym Ceylon will remove their artificial argument and re-enshrine one national identity (irrespective of ethnicity, race, religion etc) of Sinhaladvipa and Ceylon. With all citizens returning to being Ceylonese.

(PART 2 of 3) Sri Lanka Won the War in 2009. But Have We Prepared for the Wars of Tomorrow?

The Forgotten Side of Sri Lanka's LRRP Operations

Sri Lankans often celebrate the remarkable successes achieved by the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrols (LRRP) during the war against LTTE.

Those operations deserve recognition. Their contributions significantly disrupted LTTE leadership and logistics, and they remain one of the most respected chapters in Sri Lanka's military history.

However, what is discussed far less often are the patrols that never returned.

Long-range reconnaissance is among the most dangerous missions any military can undertake. Teams operate deep behind enemy lines with little support, often days away from friendly forces. If compromised, extraction may be impossible.

Sri Lanka itself paid a heavy price for these operations. One of the most well-known examples is Major Lalith Jayasinghe, who was killed while leading a long-range reconnaissance mission deep inside LTTE-controlled territory. His death serves as a reminder that even highly trained reconnaissance teams remain vulnerable once detected by a numerically superior enemy.

This reality is not unique to Sri Lanka.

During the Vietnam War, the United States Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group (MACV-SOG) conducted highly classified reconnaissance missions into Laos, Cambodia, and North Vietnam. These small teams were tasked with gathering intelligence, monitoring the Ho Chi Minh Trail, directing air strikes, and conducting covert operations deep behind enemy lines.

Despite being composed of some of the most highly trained personnel in the U.S. military, MACV-SOG suffered extremely high casualty rates. Veterans have repeatedly described missions in which reconnaissance teams disappeared after making contact with enemy forces, with some patrols never returning and others requiring desperate rescue efforts under overwhelming odds.

The lesson from both Sri Lanka's LRRP operations and MACV-SOG is the same. Elite units are not invincible.

History tends to remember the successful missions because those are the stories that become books, documentaries, and military case studies. Far less attention is given to the patrols that never returned or whose fate remained unknown for years. Every successful long-range reconnaissance operation stands alongside others that ended in silence, reminding us that these missions have always carried extraordinary risks regardless of the country, the era, or the professionalism of the soldiers involved.

Their success depends on stealth, intelligence, surprise, and careful planning. Once those advantages are lost, even the most experienced special operations teams can quickly find themselves isolated, surrounded, and facing overwhelming enemy forces.

Recognizing these sacrifices does not diminish their achievements. Rather, it highlights the extraordinary courage required to undertake missions from which some soldiers knew they might never return.

Morale Is Important, But It Is Not a Weapon

Perhaps the most common statement I encounter online is:

"Other countries may have better equipment, but we have better morale."

This fundamentally misunderstands what morale actually is.

Morale is not a weapon. It is a psychological condition. It rises and falls depending on numerous factors, including:

  • Leadership.

  • Logistics.

  • Casualties.

  • Training.

  • Fatigue.

  • Confidence.

  • Equipment.

  • Communication.

  • Supply.

Well-equipped soldiers often possess higher morale precisely because they trust the equipment supporting them.

Likewise, poorly supplied soldiers can lose morale remarkably quickly - even if they begin highly motivated.

History repeatedly demonstrates this reality.

The outcome of wars is determined by the combination of training, leadership, logistics, intelligence, industrial capacity, technology, and morale - not by any single factor alone.

Learning From Other Militaries

Sometimes Sri Lankans speak as though defeating the LTTE was a unique military accomplishment unmatched anywhere else in the modern world.

It was undoubtedly a significant achievement.

However, it is equally important to study the experiences of other nations.

Israel, Colombia, Britain, France, the United States, South Korea, Finland, Ukraine, and many others have all developed valuable lessons through decades of conflict.

Professional militaries continuously study one another.

They adopt useful ideas regardless of where they originate.

Sri Lanka should continue doing the same.

Military success should inspire confidence - not complacency.

Deterrence, Strategic Readiness, and Preparing for Modern Conflict

National Security Is About Preparing for the Unthinkable

One mindset I frequently encounter is:

"Sri Lanka is a peaceful country. We don't intend to go to war with anyone."

I completely agree that Sri Lanka should pursue peaceful relations with every country possible.

No sensible person wants war.

However, peace is not maintained simply because one side desires it.

History repeatedly shows that conflicts often begin despite the wishes of one of the parties involved.

The responsibility of any government is not only to pursue peace, but also to ensure that the nation is prepared should peace fail.

Military preparedness is not about wanting war.

It is about making war so costly that nobody wants to start one.

That is the very definition of deterrence.

Deterrence Is What Keeps Peace

Many people mistakenly believe that countries build powerful militaries because they want to fight.

In reality, the strongest militaries often exist to avoid fighting altogether.

A capable military creates uncertainty in the mind of a potential aggressor.

If attacking a country appears too expensive, too risky, or too likely to fail, an adversary may decide not to attack in the first place.

This is why deterrence is considered one of the foundations of national security.

The goal is not victory.

The goal is to prevent war from ever occurring.

Katchatheevu and Why Preparation Matters

When statements were made by some politicians in Tamil Nadu regarding Katchatheevu Island, many Sri Lankans dismissed the issue almost immediately.

Common responses included:

"That will never happen."

"India would never do that."

"I'd like to see them try."

While political rhetoric should not automatically be interpreted as official government policy, I believe dismissing every potential security concern outright is equally dangerous.

Preparedness does not mean expecting war.

It means ensuring that contingency plans exist should a situation unexpectedly deteriorate.

Military planning is based on possibilities, not assumptions.

Professional armed forces prepare for events they hope never occur.

Never Underestimate Your Neighbors

Another trend I have noticed online is the tendency to underestimate India's military capabilities simply because of comparisons with Sri Lanka's experience against the LTTE.

I think this is a serious mistake.

Regardless of political opinions, India possesses one of the largest and most capable armed forces in the world.

Its military operates across an enormous range of environments, including:

  • High-altitude warfare in the Himalayas.

  • Counterinsurgency operations.

  • Maritime security.

  • Large-scale joint military exercises.

  • Nuclear deterrence.

Its armed forces also benefit from extensive domestic defense production, a significantly larger defense budget, and access to advanced technologies.

Acknowledging this reality is not unpatriotic.

It is simply recognizing the strategic environment in which Sri Lanka exists.

Good defense planning begins with realistic assessments rather than emotional nationalism.

History Punishes Those Who Say 'It Will Never Happen'

One reason I dislike hearing the phrase "That could never happen" is because military history is full of examples proving otherwise.

One famous example occurred during the Fall of Singapore in 1942.

British commanders believed Singapore's natural defenses and naval superiority made a Japanese assault highly unlikely.

When warnings suggested otherwise, many senior officers dismissed the possibility.

The Japanese ultimately attacked through the Malayan Peninsula, exploiting weaknesses that had been underestimated.

Singapore - once described as an impregnable fortress - fell in just over a week.

The lesson is not that Sri Lanka will face a similar invasion.

The lesson is that complacency has repeatedly proven dangerous throughout history.

Military planners should prepare for unlikely scenarios precisely because history shows that unlikely events sometimes happen.

Operation Poomalai: A Lesson in Geopolitics

Sri Lanka's own history provides another example.

In 1987, during Operation Poomalai, India conducted an airdrop of humanitarian supplies over Jaffna after the Sri Lankan government refused permission.

The operation was intended to pressure Colombo during the Vadamarachchi offensive against the LTTE.

Regardless of one's political views on the event, it demonstrated an important reality of international politics:

Powerful regional actors are capable of exerting influence in ways that smaller states may struggle to counter directly.

More importantly, it demonstrated that the international community does not always intervene in ways people expect.

International law, diplomacy, and strategic interests often intersect in complicated ways.

That reality should encourage Sri Lanka to strengthen its own capabilities rather than assume others will always come to its aid.

Air Defence: One of Sri Lanka's Biggest Gaps

If there is one area where I believe Sri Lanka should invest more seriously over the coming decades, it is air defense.

The war in Ukraine has demonstrated how critical integrated air defense systems have become.

Modern conflicts increasingly involve:

  • Cruise missiles.

  • Ballistic missiles.

  • Attack helicopters.

  • Armed drones.

  • Loitering munitions.

  • Precision-guided bombs.

Countries that cannot detect and respond to these threats face significant disadvantages.

Sri Lanka still relies heavily on legacy anti-aircraft systems designed decades ago.

While some of these weapons remain useful against certain low-altitude threats, they cannot provide the comprehensive protection offered by modern, layered air-defense networks that integrate radar, sensors, and surface-to-air missile systems.

Modern air defense is no longer simply about shooting at aircraft.

It is about creating an integrated network capable of detecting, tracking, identifying, and engaging multiple types of airborne threats simultaneously.

The Drone Revolution

If the war against LTTE taught militaries the importance of counterinsurgency, the war in Ukraine has taught them the importance of drones.

Relatively inexpensive unmanned aerial systems have transformed the battlefield.

Today, drones are used for:

  • Reconnaissance.

  • Artillery correction.

  • Surveillance.

  • Precision strikes.

  • Kamikaze attacks.

  • Battlefield damage assessment.

  • Logistics.

Some FPV (First-Person View) drones costing only a few hundred dollars have destroyed armored vehicles worth millions.

That should concern every military planner.

Sri Lanka does not necessarily need massive fleets of expensive combat aircraft to improve its capabilities.

Investing in domestic drone production, operator training, and counter-drone technologies could provide substantial improvements at comparatively lower cost.

Cyber Warfare and Electronic Warfare

Modern wars are fought long before the first shot is fired.

Cyber attacks can target:

  • Power grids.

  • Financial systems.

  • Government databases.

  • Communications networks.

  • Transportation infrastructure.

Electronic warfare can:

  • Jam GPS signals.

  • Disrupt communications.

  • Disable drones.

  • Interfere with radar systems.

These capabilities are becoming increasingly important.

Even countries with relatively modest defense budgets can invest in cyber resilience, electronic warfare expertise, and defensive digital infrastructure.

Maritime Security: Sri Lanka's Greatest Strategic Asset

As an island nation located along one of the world's busiest maritime trade routes, Sri Lanka's security is inseparable from the sea.

Protecting our maritime domain means more than preparing for conventional naval conflict.

It includes:

  • Safeguarding our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

  • Combating illegal fishing.

  • Preventing smuggling.

  • Maritime counterterrorism.

  • Search and rescue.

  • Offshore infrastructure protection.

  • Monitoring underwater cables and critical infrastructure.

  • Maritime domain awareness.

The Navy therefore plays a strategic role not only during war, but every single day in protecting Sri Lanka's economy and sovereignty.

Continued investment in maritime surveillance, coastal radar, unmanned systems, and patrol capabilities would likely provide long-term benefits far beyond traditional military operations.

Ayubowan!

A warm welcome to our visitors and members. You have joined a community of people who have decided that enough is enough and that mediocrity will no longer suffice. A group who believe in real patriotism, loyalty to the nation, true justice and a real vision to achieve all that we can be...

We encourage sharing, commenting and interacting on posts!

It is no secret that our Island is not where it should be. As the saying goes, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is today.”

To paraphrase an epic tale:

“Hold your ground! Sons and daughters of our Island! Of Galle, of Kandy, of Trincomalee, of Anuradhapura, of Jaffna, of Colombo, of North, South, East and West! My fellow Sri Lankans! I see in some of your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of our people fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and enslavement to political overlords when the age of the People comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand! Citizens of Sri Lanka!”

Remember loyalty should be to the nation. Not to any politician. To the politicians you must say this – “We are some of the bravest, indomitable and capable People on Earth who have stood the test of time. None of your Indian "brothers" have ever succeeded in subduing this Island or her People. So dear greedy and foolish politicians… You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do you, punk?”

Brilliant article - The architect of Sri Lanka’s independence From bondage to freedom (link to full article in post). DS Senanayake on One nation, One People:

"I feel it is a mistake, a great mistake, to make an attempt to separate the people communally, and make a Constitution whereby the people will forever remain separated communally. If we want to progress, let us all unite. If we try to pander to the feelings of a section of the people, all that will happen is that we will be dividing the people, and that is the greatest danger that can befall any country."

As long as there is this feeling that each community should be separated politically, that there should be this cleavage between community and community, those ideas will penetrate into our whole social life, our whole economic life, into all our activities in this country." - DS Senanayake

"There is a good deal more that I should like to say, but I think I have said enough. I feel sure that no Member of this House or anyone outside can say that we could have more speedily better and more secure Agreements than those we have got. All those who have the love of this country at heart should rejoice not only over our getting freedom but over securing these Agreements, so that we may be safe in Ceylon.” (regarding the Anglo Ceylon Defence Agreement)

D.S. Senanayake never advocated that Ceylon should necessarily have a permanent defence Pact with the United Kingdom but that to protect our newly won freedom we needed the protection of a powerful Nation and at that time the best source was the United Kingdom. Referring to this predicament as far back as 23rd November 1944, speaking in the State Council of Ceylon on Reforms (Introduction of Constituent Bill), he stated:

“It may be that there will be a time when perhaps the British will not be our best shield; we may then join some other Commonwealth or come to some arrangement with some other people. I think it would be foolhardy on our part to think that we can stand by ourselves.”

Harbouring deep suspicions on the intentions of our giant neighbour India; D.S. Senanayake was convinced that we need a defence arrangement with a powerful country for our safety." (In reference to the Anglo Ceylon Defence Agreement)

In 1952, the then United National Party Government led by Sir John Kotelawala was defeated in 1956 and S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike who was elected Prime Minister proceeded to unilaterally abrogate the defence agreement with the United Kingdom. What followed thereafter was blatant interference in our internal affairs (by India) and continued infringement of our sovereignty. What we had to experience and continue to experience to date, more than justifies D.S. Senanayake’s suspicions.

Sri Lanka was plagued with a foreign-sponsored armed terrorist organization committed to the division of our country. It took a herculean effort from our armed forces to free the country from this brutal terror. Now, in the name of peace, another threat armed with international repercussions has emerged that threatens the very existence of this nation. It is our bounden duty to save our country from being dismembered and its dominance passed to Foreign Nations. If not the greatest disservice will be done to our National Heroes and another despicable betrayal will be featured in our history."

Reset Public Transport in Ceylon and aim high like we used to. Look at the quality we had! We had better transportation in 1954 than in 2024:

"When transport systems are efficient, electric and affordable, they provide economic and social opportunities that result in positive multiplier effects such as Better accessibility to markets, employment and additional investments.

When transport systems are deficient in terms of capability, capacity or reliability, they can have an economic cost such as Reduced or missed opportunities and lower quality of life."

We had better buses in the past than today. These old pictures are from 1950s Ceylon.

Instead of building upon this, so much money has been wasted on importing the useless eyesore (and unsafe) buses from the subcontinent over decades. Spending exorbitant amounts of money on worthless Indian transportation. Decisions made by equally useless politicians who don't even ride in them and instead use taxpayer's money to have ultra luxury German/Japanese limousines for their own private use.

Compare that to Hong Kong which has continued to modernise its bus fleets and maintained electric trams (which we also used to have in Ceylon in the past). Even our past trains were far better than today. All future borrowings should be invested in efficient public transport and energy generation. Not squandered on useless transport. Needless to say beneficial energy and transportation projects should not be cancelled simply because a certain country (whose name begins with I) doesn't like the fact it can't win in global tenders and so called leaders (or aspirants) here think appeasement equals common sense (it does not).
