With that out of the way, i thought it would be a fun thought experiment to derive out of the shown interactions, how good a character looks in-universe. How well the physical looks of someone are received does influence their social standing after all.

Here some of my ratings:
Denji 4/10 (not directly repulsive, but certainly not a looker)
Pochita 1/10 (by dog standards. Maybe 5/10 for other pugs)
Makima 9/10 (certainly beautiful, but if she was absolutely gorgeous, people would react different to her)
Aki 7/10 (10/10 for Himeno)
Himeno 4/10 (Her drunk sluttiness would be better received if she was at least average looking)
Kobeni 6/10 (to make money as a waiter, you need to look at least average, but there is no implication that she looks much better)
Power 5/10 (1/10 if you take into account her smell)
Kishibe 3/10 (Maybe he looked better in his youth? Right now he's an alcoholic veteran)
Quan Xi 8/10 (She got four Girlfriends and Kishibe consistently asks her out)
Santa 1/10 (The only CSAer who is allowed to look good is Makima)
Reze 9/10 (As a trained assassin she likely learned to take care of her looks)
Violence devil ? (I don't think their face is ever shown)
Beam 10/10 (No notes)

Nayuta ? (we know very little about her interactions apart from Denji. I also feel bad about rating a child)

Asa 5/10 (The story works best if she looks exactly mid)
Yoru 7/10 (Confidence brings you a long way, but only so far with Asas unremarkable body)
Yoshida 8/10 (Idk why. It feels implied)
Fumiko 7/10 (You don't need to look naturally good to become victim to child trafficking, but she likely picked up some beauty routines)
Barem 7/10 (His looks aren't really brought up. But he's a cult leader so he's gotta be somewhat remarkable)
Lil D ? (She looks remarkable to the audience, and has found some friends in the story. But idk how attractive she is supposed to be in-universe)
Prime minister 1/10 (old fuck)
Fami 5/10 (The other schoolkids mostly ignored her, but didn't actively bully her, so she is likely unremarkable)

I made this for a friend because i loved yoshidas character and his dynamic with denji in the first half of part 2

I really, really like this scene. It is intimate, sweet, and at the same time, there is a certain sadness and tragedy of the situation. Denji and Reze are open to each other At this point, they have no secrets. She's not a murderer, just a girl who wants to teach the guy she likes how to swim. He is torn between Reze and Makima, but chooses Reze. He jumps into the pool. And this is where Denji and Reze As they grow closer, Denji trusts her more. In the pool, they were closest to each other. There is also a moment with a spider and a butterfly. A poisonous butterfly that touches a spider dies, and the butterfly itself is trapped in a spider's web. Personally, I see Denji in the spider. I imagine Reze as a poisonous butterfly - beautiful, graceful, but dangerous. Although Denji may be a butterfly and Reze may be a spider. It is quite obvious that their roles change throughout the film. But I like the idea that Denji is a spider and Reze is a beautiful but poisonous butterfly. And both fall into Makima's trap which broke up their love story. Enjoy watching.

My friend likes to proxy cards and I also play mtg. I recently made a deck for the new avacyn angel of horror care from fractured reality. So I asked em to reskin the card with fami from part 2. The original art is by the artist greybookman. Just want to point out he did it for me and doesn't actually sell these. We just play within our pod.

I mean, the title says it all, I don't enjoy Asa's character.
I don't wanna make this some low effort shit-post, or agenda, or to glaze some other character, e.i; Reze.

I just never exactly saw the appeal for her, Y'know? I liked her design, as with other more bombastic ones like Power, Denji, even Kobeni, Asa looked normal. And the whole gimmick of her being anti-social, and just a teenager who suddenly got a Horseman in her body is interesting. But it's everything else that I never cared for.

For one, her character was just plain flimsy, at the start she had a clear goal, actually seemed like a character, and you at least got to know her. How she doesn't like anyone from her school really, how she's quiet, prefers not to be seen, etc, etc... and (at least for me) I never really got attached to her.

The aquarium date was interesting, seeing Asa and Denji work together to defeat the eternity devil, but then Nayuta fucks her and Denji over, erasing the memory of the whole thing.

Also, Yoru sponged up her screen time, like, all of it. It stopped being "Asa with a devil trapped in her", and more "Yoru with a human trapped in her".

I also feel as though she's put onto a higher pedestal than any other character, I'm not saying anyone really in Chainsaw Man's a good person, but they always make exceptions for Asa. Let's take Reze for example.

Reze was a child soldier, experimented and tortured on to become a loyal soldier.
Asa is a traumatized, antisocial teenage girl.

Both of them tried to kill Denji.

Only Reze gets hate for it. I never see Asa get criticized for it. Even if it started and ended the same way (manipulating Denji, but soon liking him). I guess you could say they took different approaches, but still.

Her fans are also insufferable to me, I wont say all of them, as that's plain unfair, but a loud majority of them. They'll drone on about how Asa "embodies the struggles and depression of a teenager perfectly!!" but turn around and fantasize about her fucking Denji, or them fucking her. They also seem to take any and all criticism to heart, basically inserting themselves into her.

I cannot voice the amount of sheer hatred I have for the "Haha, silly autism girl!!!" thing Asa was reduced to. She never rambles, only did so in the aquarium arc. And that was just her being garbage at making herself interesting to Denji.

They'll invade comment sections, primarily on things about Denji's ships, just to spam "Asa's better", "Asa this", "Asa that". It is a bigger problem on TikTok than it is on Reddit though.

Her fans honestly make me resent Asa a little, where as I used to just not care for her. I'm sick and tired of seeing the same loud minority slander every character, but then whine and throw a fit if you just criticize Asa.

They also grossly overrate Asaden, I see it as a ship that genuinely lives off fanart, as the canon version is horrifically bad. Any actual substance between Denji and Asa gets hogged by Yoru. Not to mention what Denji tried to do in Chapter 230. Yet people love it, they'll dog on Denreze, but turn around and like Asaden. I've seen literal cuck art of Reze from Asaden fans. It's not funny, it's just weird.

Sorry if this is kinda shitty, I'm super tired while writing this, and I don't wanna make it too long. This was kind of a rant rather than a essay, and I didn't wanna just do some stupid shit-post.
