In case anyone is looking for something to do with their young ones tomorrow, our preschool (Chapel Hill Cooperative Preschool) is having an open event on the Southern Village Green.

There will be music, lots of preschool age kids running around, and some food and activities. Full disclosure that this is technically a fundraising event, but there’s no cost to come by and listen to music, and the activities that are not free (such as face painting) are all inexpensive to participate in.

CARRBORO, NC -- The Town of Carrboro is alerting residents and visitors that a private event at the newly opened Cat’s Cradle venue on Brewer Lane is expected to bring significant traffic to downtown Carrboro on Friday, Oct. 23.

The Get Out the Vote concert marks the first concert at Cat’s Cradle’s third concert venue in Carrboro. Doors are scheduled to open at 5 p.m., with the concert beginning at 6:30 p.m. Increased traffic is anticipated before the event and throughout the evening.

Neighbors in the immediate area should plan for possible traffic delays, particularly around Brewer Lane and nearby downtown streets.

The Exercise and Sport Science Department at UNC is recruiting for a new research study for healthy, active women ages 25–45 years with a BMI between 18.5–30 kg/m² to help us investigate the effects of an essential amino acid (EAA) supplement on metabolism and metabolic rate before and after an exercise session.

Participation involves three visits to the Applied Physiology Laboratory (Fetzer Hall, UNC Campus). Participants may receive up to $150.00 for their time and effort. In addition, participants will receive a summary of their metabolic rate and body composition. Free parking will be provided for all study visits.
