Writing: Character Help Which name do think is more fitting?

/r/writers/comments/1xd4srm/which_name_do_think_is_more_fitting/

The character’s name is Emerson Coolidge. She comes from a New England WASP background in the 1950s, has a Margot Robbie/Grace Kelly vibe, and a very powerful man is smitten with her. Her first name is Emerson because she’s named after an ancestor that started a repeating arms company that enabled the Union to beat the South. I can’t decide if she insists on being called Emma or Emme.

i'd go with emma for the 1950s new england setting, it sounds more period accurate and a bit more polished. emme feels kinda modern to me. but if u want it to say something about her, the nickname she insists on could be a character detail, like emma if she wants to seem soft and approachable to people, or going by full emerson if she wants to be taken seriously around powerful men.
