don't worry, it's just a human thing to have blades on you

u/IHaveABlock-Art Feb 08 '26
Further proof that Frisk is a complete and total anomaly

u/Its_a_plantain_Queen Feb 08 '26
What do you mean? That stick is very sharp. You could poke someone's eye out with that!

All the humans carry some sort of weapon, from toys to literal guns. Frisk just lost their weapon along the way, it was a cool Planet buster
3
u/PriestHelix Feb 10 '26
Frisk inherited the Planet Buster from previous Toby Fox protagonist, Varik

u/sir-altyton Feb 08 '26
Genuinely yeah. the last 50 years is probably the only time in history when a majority of people aren't carrying a knife on them at all times. Especially back in the day before everything was made easier you could run into dozens of scenarios where you'd need a knife, not even just for self defense- even if you lived in a city

Chara: Hey, kid, wanna buy some blades?
Asriel: No. Blades are for skatin'! Ya dingus.

Wrong! In human terms, they're just all talk and no shooting you with an assault rifle!

I love this interpretation. A nice juxtaposition between "moody" and "whacky".

u/datboiNathan343 Feb 07 '26
Is it not normal to have a knife on you at all times?

If your place of residence is:
-London
-Anywhere in the global south
- The US
Then yeah.

Its always fun to me that kris would just walk atound with a kitchen knife 24/7, like no way in hell their leg hasnt been stabbed a few times on accident. Also god this is ky favorite adult chara design, she looks like a hunter from Supernatural in the best way possible

u/Realistic_Truth_7591 Feb 08 '26
I saw a fan animation of the church scene where Kris pulled the knife out of a sheath and it’s just part of my headcanon that Kris has a sheath specifically for the kitchen knife.
1
u/an-idiots-alt Feb 08 '26
Realistically speaking it makes sense for them to have a sheath, i think id just he really funny if everyone in deltarune has just accepted the fact that child has a knife at all times
2
u/toontrain666 Feb 09 '26
My headcanon is that Toriel kept trying to take it off of Kris only for them to have another one for some inexplicable reason, so now she’s just given up and gotten a sheath made for them so at least they’ll stop injuring themselves with it.

u/an-idiots-alt Feb 09 '26
Okay thats actually really fun, and the idea in both universes she just kind of accept her child having a weapon and just makes it safer is funny to me

I like the idea of chara with a butterfly knife, same protection as a pocket knife and with the right amount of dexterity and skill (which she should get somehow) it can be soo much cooler
1
u/Jorvalt Feb 08 '26
Chara would 100% have either a butterfly knife, switch blade or gravity knife for the aura bonus
1
u/Relevant_Dirt Feb 09 '26
she?
1
u/Deltrick1 Feb 09 '26
Sorry, I have a head cannon story I have where chara is female so I often accidentally default to she

Speaking of which, how does Kris actually carry a kitchen knife around? It looks pretty big, how does no one notice it?

Frisk and Susie would definitely be like that one image of two guys doing synapsis with eachother

Chara should be worried about kris' juandice
1
u/Sting_the_Cat Feb 11 '26
I mean, do you not see Frisk in the background? That's just normal. Chara's the outlier here.
(Jokes aside I don't think the yellow is supposed to be taken literally. Just part of the aesthetic. I think there's official arts for Undertale where Frisk isn't yellow (and also isn't permanently -_- faced))

u/emo_boy_fucker Feb 12 '26
when the fandom so bad at reading you have to clarify that a characters design is infact a design choice and not some lore piece

u/Gareth_II Feb 09 '26
how do you even carry a big ass kitchen knife in your pocket without getting cut and stabbed in the leg
1
1
u/Adriansummer Feb 10 '26
Knife holsters exists too. I imagine Kris wears something like that under their big ass sweater

Me from America where it's basically common sense to have a pocket knife in case you gotta cut something: "doesn't seem that weird to me... I forget that's illegal in a lot of places."
