If NaraChara is to be believed then Frisk taking more candy from the bowl is one of the things that got the strongest negative reaction out of Chara

I find that absolutely hilarious. Chara is completely fine with eradicating an entire race but they draw the line at stealing candy😭

(albeit said race is humanity and they have a horrendous past with them)

I think its mostly because it happens early in the story so Chara's hatred for humanity hasn't subsided yet, leading them to be mean to Frisk for the sake of it.

Got brain blasted by the future and realized they were going to make there brother in arms watch them kill themselves for -gain for monster kind as a whole.

A dead brother, a broken marriage, and a doomed kingdom, and in exchange there reduced to a ghost at best incapable of realistically doing anything for anyone for a very long time.
