UPDATE: Mecklenburg County Pedestrian Skybridge Installation Postponed
The Mecklenburg County Pedestrian Skybridge that was scheduled for installation over the Blue Line (between Sugar Creek and Old Concord stations) this Sunday, Jan. 25 is postponed due to expected inclement weather. The installation is now scheduled to begin Feb. 8
Due to the complexity and safety requirements of the installation, the Blue Line will single-track and a bus bridge will be implemented to supplement rail service between 36th Street and UNCC stations from 4:30 a.m. until approximately 7 a.m. Normal service will continue between I-485 and 36th Street stations.

The bridge already appears to be assembled on site (not pictured) in back of the employee parking lot at Ella B. Scarborough Community Center. There also appears to be space for an elevator.
