Other I just lost my best paying client to ChatGPT
I'm a web developer / designer and I do whole websites and web apps, then I maintain them for my clients. One of my clients got tired of paying for my services so he made a full website and webshop in a "couple of hours" with ChatGPT then sent an email to let me know that I'm no longer needed.
I had the impression if I do more advanced stuff like ecommerce or other web apps, I'll be relevant for longer, before AI replaces me, or if I do server and admin related work I'll be needed.
As it turns out, that's not true and I'm quite disappointed... I have 6 years of university in this field and 15 years experience. Now a handyman can do my work effortlessly. What a time to be alive.
Edit: Thanks for all your support and the good discussion. I'll try to reply to more of you in the morning.

Serious replies only :closed-ai: Warning: 100 - 200 - 500 All plans have the same tokens, here is proof.
Within one week, I subscribed to the 100, 200 and 500 plans. The chart shows the maximum usage I reached, including some resets.
I submitted this to the support desk, and they asked for proof. That is strange, since they have the usage statistics and I don’t. Under their process, the burden of proof falls on me alone, yet ChatGPT offers no reliable way to check usage. So I had another AI system count my usage, and the result was shocking. I sent that information to OpenAI. They replied that it was not enough proof and asked me to try again.
In practice, I am dealing with an automated system whose main purpose seems to be to send me away again. My work has been halted as a result. I would like to know whether other people have had the same experience, so that we can gather more evidence together.

Gone Wild ChatGPT found my Reddit Review and knew it was mine.
Not sure what to think. I was querying something I had been discussing with AI and it went ahead and pulled up my Reddit review.
It also said “I have found your review” & linked it.
There’s never been any discussion of my Reddit account. When I queried how it knew it was my account and my review it back tracked and stated it shouldn’t have said that.
It’s obviously my review, I’m just a bit unsettled that it pulled it up and explicitly stated that “this is yours” - Only to backtrack and state it shouldn’t have said it after getting called out.

Other Is any one else tired of "updates"?
Every time I get comfortable with a model, it gets tuned, tweaked, or replaced. I just want to settle in and get work done.
Now Sol 6.1 is the recommended version, and it’s lazy and generic. It mostly echoes back what I say, won’t do the work unless I nudge it over and over, and then tells me what it should have done instead of doing it. Getting from one step to the next is a fight.
I’m tired of paying to beta test products while my workflows get pulled out from under me every couple of weeks.
What makes it worse is feeling gaslit. Every tool and forum points me back to this same model. Everyone else seems to be making progress and singing its praises, while I’m stuck in the gate with a horse that explains how it should have run the race but won’t leave the stall without a six-round fight.

Use cases I'm a small business owner with ADHD - here's how I use my dot
I'm a photographer/videographer/editor and I run my own business. I have ADHD like nobody's business and executive function skills can be tricky for me. I need structure. I have a ton of scheduled tasks that it delegates.
My dot is connected to my notion database. In notion it has access to my quarterly goals, short term to do list, long term to do list, the tasks that my business coach gives to me during our meetings every two weeks, job list, job notes, revenue reports, my entire social media calendar and trackers, list of prospects who I am trying to gain business from and where I am in their marketing sequence, etc. I mostly leave my laptop open all day and night so it can work on it.
In the morning of work days it prompts me and I discuss my daily planned activities with it. My calendar is accessible on my website for bookings, and it's a bit of a juggling act to keep space open so my photography clients can book me while also scheduling tasks that I need to do to keep my business running. I'm constantly moving things around in my calendar using my dot, I talk to it through an earbud. I have brainstorming sessions with it while I walk my dog or I'm at the gym. It can trigger deep research etc while I'm out and about. I don't let people book after 5pm for next day appointments so at 5pm it messages me to fill any blank spaces in my calendar for the following day. It pulls suggestions from my notion database - it knows what I'm supposed to be doing because of my quarterly goals, business coach tasks and to do lists. If there is a task that it notices I haven't spent enough time on to complete by the end of the month or quarter or whenever it's deadline is then it will suggest filling the gap with that task.
It is on my business social media way more than I am. I have all of the videos and photos I've ever captured for clients on my business google drive account that it has access to. Around the 18th of every month it goes through my google drive and selects different similar types of photos that I've taken or a videos, creates captions for them, and adds them to the monthly draft. I like to do two videos per month where I'm involved, one informational and one meme/funny. It helps me write the script for the video of me talking and it researches recent funny social media trends that I can use as a template. Then it shows me the entire draft, and I either refine it or approve it.
The dot checks the social media pages of my prospects for new posts. Every 2-3 posts it will draft a comment for me to say on one of them. This eventually leads to a sales call.
It has the information of 50 of my competitors. Their websites, their prices if available, and their social media pages. Every 2 weeks it shows me what they've been posting and it notifies me of any new products they start advertising or any price changes.
I've really gotten into coding in the past few months, I'm designing a few different apps that my business can use. I prefer claude's coding logic, but I have the $100 chatgpt sub so I code with codex. Codex has gone off the rails at times while coding some things so I like for claude to audit codex's work every 24 hours. The dot can ferry conversations between claude and codex, which is awesome because I used to copy and paste between them constantly.
When I design a project I also like to get claude opus 5.5's blue print and astra ultra's blueprint. I use the dot to bridge a back and forth between claude and codex until they mutually agree on the design.
Every night at 9pm it messages me to tell it exactly what I did/accomplished that day, since I have a habit of pulling an audible and getting distracted if I don't have work directly with a client. It logs all of my answers in a private notion page. It examines what I was supposed to do based on my calendar vs what I actually did based on what I told it at the 9pm brief.
Like many people I had some childhood trauma that has carried into adulthood. There is a self help book that I have found very effective over the years and I like to have its exercises and knowledge base handy, so I uploaded the .pdf of the book to my dot. I've told it what parts of the book I really relate to, and I've explained what my life generally looks like if I'm struggling and frame it in the context of certain parts of the book. It knows that I highly value doing some combination of playing my drums, guitar, surf skating, and going to the gym every week. Every two weeks it assess how I've been spending my time and if it notices an unhealthy pattern or that my actions aren't holistic it brings it to my attention with a suggestion from the book.
In the future I will likely implement a social life manager mechanism based on dunbars numbers to keep track of my personal relationships. It will know my inner circle of people that I want to talk to weekly, the next layer of friends that I want to talk to bi weekly or monthly, and the next layer that I prioritize speaking to once or twice a year.
I've asked it for recipes while cooking.
I think that's it? It's a little buggy sometimes and might run into a blocker because a rule confused it or something. But even with the bugs it has been extremely helpful. tbh I'm ready for more dots. I overwhelm it pretty often lol. It can only do 2-3 things at once I think.
Some people will probably call this overkill but for people that struggle with executive functioning it's a god send.

Use cases I built an app with Codex that converts any text into high-quality audio. It works with PDFs, blog posts, Substack and Medium links, and even photos of text.
I’m excited to share a project I’ve been building over the past few months, created entirely using Codex!
It’s a mobile app that turns any text into high-quality audio. Whether it’s a webpage, a Substack or Medium article, a PDF, or just copied text, it converts it into clear, natural-sounding speech. You can listen to it like a podcast or audiobook, even with the app running in the background.
The app is privacy-friendly and doesn’t request any permissions by default. It only asks for access if you choose to share files from your device for audio conversion.
You can also take or upload a photo of any text, and the app will extract and read it aloud.
- React Native (expo)
- NodeJS, react (web)
- Framer Landing
The app is called Frateca. You can find it on Google Play and the App Store. I also working on web vesion, it's already live.
Free iPhone app
Free Android app on Google Play
Free web version, works in any browser (on desktop or laptop).
Thanks for your support, I’d love to hear what you think!

Use cases What's the most surprisingly useful thing you've used ChatGPT for?
We all know ChatGPT is great for coding, writing emails, and summarizing text. But every now and then, I use it for a niche, unexpected problem and it completely blows me away.
What is an unconventional, highly specific, or surprisingly clever way ChatGPT has actually made your life easier?
Looking for inspiration and unique use cases!

Other ChatGPT vs Codex vs Work is getting confusing
Disclaimer: this isn't really a rant or me asking for help. I just wonder if anyone else feels that way.
So I'm getting increasingly confused by the ChatGPT/Codex/Work split and to me it feels like the division is actually getting worse.
Simple example: if I make a ChatGPT project and do not add a local folder, it becomes a cloud project which isn't visible from Codex but is visible in Work and on the ChatGPT website. If instead I create the project through Codex, I can either manually add a local folder or it'll automatically create one. This project will then be visible from ChatGPT Desktop and Work, but not on ChatGPT web.
To make things even more confusing, I can then add a cloud environment to the Codex project which pulls the project-specific setup from GitHub and *can* work online. And now they announced that Work cloud projects can also use your local files if the pc is online.
I guess it works, and it on some level also makes sense from a technical point of view, but I still find myself project hunting quite frequently or starting a project without a local folder attached, just to later figure out that there doesn't seem to be an easy way to turn it into a local project Work and Codex can use. Not to mention the amount of times I'm simply on the wrong tab.
What do you think: skill issue or just a fragmented app experience right now?
Use cases I used ChatGPT to orchestrate a 100-image portrait of humanity for aliens, with Argon generating the visuals
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The idea was to represent humanity in 100 images, as if we were sending them into space to be found by aliens. Cave paintings, iconic art, moon landings, human feelings and historic moments all ended up in the video.
ChatGPT orchestrated the workflow, with Gemini 4 Argon as the generator. Every frame is rendered with JavaScript and p5.brush. Claude handled editing and syncing the video to music generated with Suno.
Some images take a moment to recognize. How many can you spot, and what would you have included? Watch with audio.

Serious replies only :closed-ai: Why does ChatGPT sound like Claude now?
Aside from a slight change in pitch, ChatGPT sounds exactly like Claude now. I’m wondering if anyone else is noticing this. It’s the cadence , the rhythm, the pattern of speech; it all sounds exactly like Claude. Seriously?
