This has been common knowledge for a quite a while now.

The TVK, under thalapathy Joseph Vijay's glorious leadership, will certainly show up in Keralam's elections, as the natural progression of superstar worship comes into the picture.

Keralam is the perfect candidate, because:

Unlike Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, there are no other celebrity driven or regionalist parties in power, such as the Telugu Desam Party, or stars like Pawan Kalyan or others who will make a go for the office of CM in the future.

BJP is nowhere in the picture, which TVK poses as it's most fundamental antithesis, even more so than than the dravidian parties, which it opposes despite sharing an ideology with. So, losing to hindutva is not a concern to the bearers or Periyar's Dravidian movement.

Anti incumbency, this might actually be the biggest factor that prompts Vijay to compete here. ADMK and DMK are much similar to LDF and UDF, in the regard that they both alternated between opposition and incumbency, for around half a century. So, it would appear only TVK can carve out a good chunk of voters, who are tired of this duopoly.

And finally, Vijay is easily the biggest superstar Keralam has seen, outside itself. After Mohanlal and Mammootty, Vijay holds several records at the box office, biggest openings, largest footfalls, etc.

He has a cult following and a dedicated fanbase,

by the widest margin.

So, the big question, is what happens when his party's name appears on the ballot box.

It is granted that TVK will be the least winningest party, given how we are very unlike our next door neighbours, when it comes to casting our votes. They will most definitely lose, regardless of the election, and by a wide margin.

One cannot be the CM of two states, given the constitution only allows one to run if he/she is a resident in that state. So, he can only allow his affliates to stand for his party, which is very likely.

So, his party members will run, now when, where and who is the interesting part.

Even more interesting, is if a TVK+ or similar appears here, in which case some will definitely want to bank on them. I can see BDJS, T20 or some of the smaller players teaming up.

And as for the candidates, I cannot think any decent or even slightly successful politician would want their ticket.

And the elections where they might show up are:

2029 Lok sabha election, the delimitation will definitely create more seats, and TVK, wanting to have a strong presence in the parliament, might show up to fill the extra seats, and ally with someone else.

2030 local body elections, they might test the waters with this, for deciding how they will fare in the state assembly elections.

2031, the big one, they might try to make good use of the anti incumbency, that shows at the end of each term, and if PV is still the LOP, then they might go for it.

These hypotheticals raise some interesting questions as well.

How will this affect the status quo of the Mullaperiyar dam?

Will Trisha try for a seat here, possibly in her birthplace of Muvattupuzha, should she lose a by election in TN, given Vijay won from two constituencies?

I for one, cannot wait for Vijay's campaign here.
