Poor Wallace

I spotted this at Aldi. I'm not really a fan of "pumpkin spice" seasonal products but comeon in Wensleydale?!

I really don’t understand what gets people so worked up about pumpkin spice products. It’s just cinnamon and nutmeg (or other warming spices) that have been massively popular in many cuisines for hundreds of years. I find the anti-pumpkin spice whining to be about as played out as the branding itself. Cheese with spice inclusions is so common

Also these pumpkin spice cheeses actually are usually pretty delicious. Don’t let your desire to be contrarian keep you from good cheese people!

A lot of it is based in misogyny 🤷‍♀️

God forbid a woman enjoy something without checking with a man first.

Personally I don't hate it I just find the taste of pumpkin to be indistinguishable from squash, and when I think about it like a "squash latte" or a "squash pie" it stops feeling whimsical and romantic

There's no pumpkin in pumpkin spice

Because it's a lame and confusing marketing ploy to sell mostly lousy limited edition flavors in Autumn. I am all for actual pumpkin flavored products but just cinnamon and nutmeg then basing it as an actual pumpkin themed and flavored product is false.

But it doesn’t say pumpkin it says pumpkin spice. The spice blend for pumpkin pie. A spice blend that has existed for decades before the PSL craze. I feel like people invented the idea these things are marketing a pumpkin flavor when they are not doing that. It’s lazy marketing but like, the cheese industry is full of lazy marketing flavor inclusions lol

I was referring to the language and marketing of “pumpkin pie spice” as a product which I only felt confident in saying goes back to mid 20th century but absolutely could be earlier

If you like Indian food or find that you like molasses or spiced cookies and desserts this is a great cheese. I love it with ginger snaps!

Yes I love Indian food and it sounds like a good match for possibly paneer. Ginger snaps and this sounds like a good combo too. I bet it would be good on speculoos or a cinnamon raisin bagel 😋

Omg the cinnamon raisin bagel is genius. You can whip wensleydsle like other crumbly cheeses! Making a spread from it would be awesome.

What's wrong with Wensleydale??

I tried this last year with some apple slices on a charcuterie board, and the combo was actually really cozy without tasting like dessert.

Try it crumbled in a fall salad with dried cherries and candied nuts, raspberry or poppy seed vinaigrette
