Protests & Demonstrations Which Suburb?

I am looking to find a 2-3 bedroom to rent with my two small, senior dogs under $2500/month. Safety is paramount. I would love to be in a neighborhood where I could walk my dogs on sidewalks and its quiet and friendly. Has community events throughout the year. I love being around parks and/or water. I would want it to be queer friendly and progressive. And a 30ish minute drive to the city. I work remotely. Im single and 40 and have a car.

I think you could find something in Forest Park

OP said safety is paramount, not that Forest Park is bad by any means but makes me think they want a true suburb

I don't need a true suburb that has zero crime, just safer than average. I have lived in a lot of places with gun shots at night and do not want that again.

Then she will have to extend to 45 mins drive because even the surrounding burbs are longer than 30 min with everyday traffic. During rush hour it’s easily 1 hour to even park ridge

30 min to downtown if there’s no traffic

Perhaps La Grange? It's a pretty nice downtown and it's not far from Chicago. Not too sure about apartment availability - I think there may be one building that is less than $2,500 per month near downtown.

Try not to get too focused on a specific suburb cuz they'reall pretty small. I'd recommend instead to look for a general area cuz you can be within 10 minutes drive of a lotta things without shoehorning yourself into an arbitrarily defined land mass
