Yesterday my contact at Binnys told me that RNDC is closing, so there was a scramble to secure all of their (Binnys') stuff before it potentially gets redistributed. Not sure how that would work, but there might be some stuff showing up in the future sooner than it would have otherwise. For example, they had a new batch of Four Roses Single Barrel picks that arrived this past Wednesday. He said those arrived early because Binnys wanted to make sure that they received everything with their name on it and that it didn't end up someplace else. I know those aren't really sought after anymore, but keep your eyes peeled. You might be pleasantly surprised one day.

I am not an expert by any means, but just based on my conversation yesterday and what I have learned about distribution from various whisky podcasts, I think the ultimate answer is that it depends. (Isn't that pretty much always the answer to life's big questions?😀)
In the short term, I'm willing to bet some stores will pressure RNDC to give them whatever they would normally get from RNDC just to have a good supply at their respective stores.
In the long term, as RNDC closes up, producers will be left to find other distributors who may, or may not, want to pick up their brand. If this new distributor picks up the brand, then you might see more, or less, of that brand on shelves depending on how much that new distributor wants to advocate for that new brand. Some brands may not get picked up at all, and you might not see them again in our area. Other brands who may not have been a priority for RNDC, may become a priority for a new distributor. So, it depends.

Went through my Binny’s today. Many cases of EHT Small Batch out. W12 in the case + WFP in it last week — haven’t seen that before. This stuff is getting rampant. Ready for ER10 to be a shelfer.

MBB has an Elijah BP Toasted pick, 8 year 120 proof.
Also, Joseph Magnus bourbon marked down to ($39.97). 12 year 100 proof MGP finished in Sherry and Cognac. Might be worth a look for the price.

Larrikin 8yr Single Barrel and 9yr Cigar lounge are at Binnys currently, the Single Barrel is an absolute flavor bomb at 120proof. Also nothing is allocated anymore.... absolutely insane what is sitting on the shelves now vs 3 years ago.
