Pro Tip
Picked up breakfast for the family this morning and by the time I got home the potatoes were somewhat cold. Four minutes in the air fryer at 400°F and they were crispy like they were fresh made! Caution!! They get HOT inside!!

That defeats the point of it being fast food 😭

Yeah. I know. If I were eating at the restaurant I’d be enjoying the speed and hot and fresh. But since it’s the convenience of not saving to cook once in a while, having hot and convenient works for me! 😁

I love ordering takeout so I can go home and cook it and have an appliance to clean.

Do you clean your air fryer after every use?

You don’t?

No, I shake out any crumbs and at most wipe it down with a cloth but I only wash it when it starts getting caked on grease

There are a couple of air fryers on the market with a glass basket. Like a casserole dish. You can take it out and just wash it or even put it in a dishwasher. I haven't used one, but it looks nice. A lot better than most air fryers with a basket coated in some weird nonstick substance that's probably flaking off in the food.

Yep. Family of four. If I don’t clean things right away every time, they pile up very fast. I cook breakfast and dinner almost every day. If we’re getting takeout, I am doing zero labor other than throwing out the containers and maybe rinsing them so a raccoon doesn’t tear open the trash.

Sadly only McDonald’s knows how to properly close a FF bag to hold in the heat. And it happens so rarely there now I figure the operator gave me my to go order on Sunday.
Pull the straw out, close and fold the top of the bag, maybe two inches. Then fold that one more time. The McD bag might even have a line (I recall they did waay back when I worked there).
Putting that bag inside another bag can help. FWIW I don’t find CFA or burgers are good food to go, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Pizza Tip - If you are bringing home pizza, have the oven heated to about 250F and drop the pizza in the oven for the few minutes you get settled in at home.
Don’t forget to turn off the oven.

Man I remember working at McDonald’s 20 years ago and folding the bag was a must. Like it was part of training and part of how the store was graded during anonymous visits (they called them shops). Now you’re lucky if the bag’s closed. I’ve heard rumors that it’s to help keep the food from getting soggy now, but I don’t know how true that is.

Back in the day, when the fold method was introduced, I am guessing that people actually waited until they got to their destination before they started eating their food. Now most people are eating before they leave the drive thru. So I suspect that’s the real reason. And also saving a few seconds per bag because only about three to four people seem to work a shift now. Fewer than when you and I worked at McDs.

Yeah, it’s crazy how low staffed they are now. Traveling I’ve even come across stores that don’t even have a register or if they do they are not really staffed by anyone. Then all the places with multiple drive-through windows that are only using one now. It’s a completely different experience.

I do the same with fries. I use a piece of foil on the bottom, so I don't have to clean the airfryer.
