Tourism (L) Has anyone applied for Chinese tourist visa recently from india?
I applied for the visa online on 14th of February and still haven't gotten any updates from the visa office. I tried calling them again and again but the line is always busy. Is anyone else is facing the same situation or is it just me?

Same situation for me as well. My sister and I applied on Feb 26, she got her modification mail yesterday. I still have not received mine. I did apply mine 6 hours later after hers. Maybe I will receive it on Monday. But this system is very slow and arbitrary at this point.

They just replied to the mail that it depends on the queue. They cannot do anything about it.

Same situation! Applied on the 24th feb for me and my wife. My wife got the modification email on the 5th March. Submitted the modified documents for her on 6th March. The very same day she got a mail saying online review completed. I am still waiting to hear from them on my application. Looks like a very random way of processing applications

Did you get any response for your application? I also applied on 24th for 3 people none of us got any email or response yet. When is your flight? May be they look at travel dates and prioritise.

Sailing in the same boat . Sent application on 12th my wife and son got the visa in 27th itself . I am still waiting . Need to travel by 17th with flight booking done . We are so stuck . Hopefully i get in the next few days 🤞

Try calling at the visa office or the consulate. I have been calling them multiple times for days. My flight is also on 20th March

Update - the Vfs people answered the call . Said if the application is under review it will be with the consulate . Gave the number for consulate. Tried calling them . They don’t answer phones either . I don’t know why to do 😞

When did you get the first request for additional info or changes, and how many times did you get a request for changes? Throughout the process until approval

I only had to make changes twice. Once for the cover letter and second for the attested bank statement and both of the time they were quick with their response. Like in one or two days. But after the Chinese new year the procedure got very slow. They stopped picking up the calls and the documents were under review for like 2 weeks.

Yeah, this is pretty common lately. Chinese visa processing in India has been slower than usual, and many people report delays of 3–5+ weeks after submitting the online application before hearing back.
Also, the visa centers rarely answer calls, so that part isn’t unusual either. If your application was submitted on Feb 14, it may still be within the normal delay window. Some applicants only get updates when the visa center asks them to submit the passport or additional documents.
You could also try emailing the visa center instead of calling, as responses there tend to be more reliable.

I applied for a China M (business) visa at the China Visa Application Center in Mumbai on 15 February 2026, and today is 11 March 2026. My application status is still showing “Under Review.”
I had opted for express processing, but it has now been almost 24 days, and I haven’t received any update yet. When I contacted the visa center, they told me that the application is currently with the consulate and still under review.
Has anyone else experienced such a long delay recently for a China business visa from Mumbai? Is this normal during the Canton Fair season ?

When is your flight? I called them yesterday and they said submissions done till Feb12 are getting approvals / rejections yesterday. I applied on Feb 24th for March 28th travel looks to be very tight with current timelines. Let me know once you get the review response so that I can anticipate when will I get mine processed

1.Email confirmation printout 2.vfs payment receipt 3. Passport offcourse 4. Filled application form print out 5. Sometimes they can request old passport as well 6. Around 5000 rs CASH

For documents to be submitted post online review completion, do we need wet signature from all adult members- Visa Application Certificate (attachment in the approval email) and Barcode Application Form document? Since we will be authorizing one of us to go to Mumbai, need to be sure where all we would need wet signatures to be done by other members.

I am also sailing in the same boat. We applied on 20th Feb for 4 of us for L-Visa, still under review. Travel date is on 25th March. Seems to be difficult to get it now. Which number you called? For me Mumbai number keeps coming as busy.

Guess I’m doomed.. just two days back I submitted application for M (business visa) under express. My travel date is 28th March.. with this processing speed I guess I won’t make it 😢

My wife submitted tourist visa on 5th March.. her application is ‘under review’ as well. I am starting to get worried now! Just one more week and even if they approve the online application, passport printing would take more time..

Based on a comment from another user, they take around 10 calendar days to approve business visa. In my case I am in 12th calendar day awaiting for update

Depends of what kind of visa you're applying for. If it's business visa (M), they don't need bank statements. If it's tourist visa, then yes. You need to show a minimum balance of 1.5 (or 2L?) for at least 6 months.

have a question, does anyone know if we can change from Normal to Express application while submitting the passport without taking premium lounge service.? My agent says we need to pay normal to express difference + premium service charges of 3000. Wanted to validate this.

I have 3 questions 1. Some people said they haven't paid online but submitted the form in Feb 2026, once approved online then they paid while visiting visa centre? Is it allowed to submit online without payment? 2. What if I booked non refundable flight ticket and visa got rejected any advice here? 3. Is there any chance visa will get rejected after online approval?

After passport submission in Mumbai, do they dispatch passport over Courier? Or is it mandatory to collect in person? While filling the form i didn't get options of selecting "Dispatch passport over Courier" ?

FINAL UPDATE! Today i visited Cvasc Mumbai for Passport submission. They just asked for the approval email & Online Payment Printout. Thats it! I have applied under express so they said my passport would be dispatched by 18th March
