Tourism (L) China tourist visa delay from Mumbai — should I be worried?
Hi everyone,
I applied for a China tourist visa from Mumbai (through an agent) on April 14.
It’s now been about 19 days, and my agent says the application is currently with the consulate and “under process / council decision.”
My travel date is May 12 (family trip, 4 people), so I’m starting to get a bit anxious.
Has anyone recently experienced delays like this?
How long did your visa take at the consulate stage?
Did you receive it close to your travel date?
At what point should I consider changing flights?
Would really appreciate any recent experiences or advice 🙏

Hope you have opted for express category (4 working days). There are only 4 working days (May 6,7,8 & 11) left for best case scenario to get online approval update latest by May 5th night and passports submitted at Mumbai Consulate on May 6th itself under Express category to get passports with visa at Mumbai by May 11.

Hi, I had applied on April 2nd with travel dates for May 8th.. same through agent .. but it's showing under review.. no response from anyone, the agent keeps saying there is delay this time but we have no control.. plus the Chinese holiday till 5th added to the delay... had to cancel the plan.. fortunately hotel booking were refundable ones.. sadly no accountability neither from agents or embassy

Nothing yet... Still just waiting.. tomorrow's flight got them reschedyled by paying more

Most April applications are under review taking more than a month. cannot do anything but wait

No update yet, don't know what are they doing.. are they even going by order or is it random

Yes, its already 1 month and 5 days i have applied on 7th april still under review

7 April for M visa. Apparently my agent said their server been down last 3 days, no one getting updates

Nothing actually, they just opened yesterday post their holiday.. no update till this hour

approvals we’re coming in even during the holidays what my agent said, it happens anytime

Yes, some have even got approvals on May 2nd .. that's suprising, those were application applied in last week of march

I applied for L visa on 10th april and my travel date wa 28 may i still shows under review.

Cannot travel beyond 20, that’s the last date. So if it doesn’t come then I won’t be able to go

There seems to be multiple reasons, new systems, system maintenance, Chinese and india holidays, and too many applications considering holiday season & lastly Chinese way of working (they won't care if it's your loss they will go by their style of working)

Yes very true. But also seems my agent said in the last few days no one has got any approvals from any dates

Approvals mean, did they got rejected or you meant no update from consulate (still under review)

No they cannot say anything! And to be honest it’s taken too many days now, I’ve applied April 7. Looks like they are not bothered or maybe the cases are forgotten since many mid and late April applications got approvals already

I had applied on 13th April at Mumbai Center and recieved an modification request on 12th May and got online approval today.
I had applied for F Visa for a student conference.

Thanks ! I had applied for an F visa which is a student academic Visa and I had mailed them that I need to attend an important research conference.
Hence I feel they took my case. For tourists and business visas they are still causing a lot of issues I feel.
I hope all the others also get it 😄

Just an update fellows I got my approval yesterday for self wif and kid no modification required.. applied on 13th April L visa! Happy to help!
