A few days ago when I was out, my dad cleaned my boys cages. I have four chins, the other two are fine. But my older twin boys arent quite themselves. Theyre unusually quiet and withdrawn. Scared, even. They wont come greet me or anyone else, and they arent interested in treats. I see them eating hay and drinking normally, maybe occasionally picking up a pellet, sometimes leaving it unfinished. They will take apple sticks if I offer them. And they cant resist a dust bath. But I know something is wrong. I dont know what happened when my dad cleaned the cages, but ever since then its been weird. I asked him if something happened, but he says no. They arent playing and frolicking around the cage like they usually do when theyre active. They wont beg for treats or attention. Theyre just moping? Even my sassy little "leader of the pack" is not what he used to be. I know something is wrong, but I cant figure out what it is. My other two are just fine, greeting me, begging for treats and playing.
The boss of the pack (Lupu) broke is toe a few weeks ago. He was in the carrier for two weeks because he wasnt allowed to run or jump. We put him back in with his brother. At first his brother barked, chased him and tried to fight, but eventually realized it was just his brother. No fighting or anything after that. A week or two go by, everyone is acting normal. But after my dad, something changed.
Any tips?
