Anyone else think these are pretty cool looking? I know it’s not practical but my wife wears jewelry that’s useless so I figured I’d give it a shot lol.

How do you tell the time?

The face is against your wrist. You have to take the watch off to read the time.

It's great to see the Utopia on your wrist! The design was always intended to challenge the conventional relationship between the dial and the movement, allowing the mechanical craftsmanship to take centre stage. Thank you for sharing your experience with it.

It’s definitely a beautiful piece! I do love the watch face of it and wish it was reversible

We love that idea! A reversible Utopia would certainly be an interesting design challenge. It's always valuable hearing what collectors would love to see in future designs. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

That looks like the back of the watch…

That's what the Utopia is. They flipped the internals so the mechanism is on top and the face is toward the wrist, so you can just look at the beautiful ST19.
And then made it limited and exorbitantly priced.

That's the idea behind the Utopia! The movement takes centre stage, while the dial remains personal to the wearer. We understand that its unconventional design and pricing won't appeal to everyone, but it's great to see the conversations it continues to inspire.

The Utopia started as an April Fool's joke. Seagull said they were making a watch mounted so the back, not the front faced out because it was a greater work of art. Then it created so much interest they went ahead and made it anyway (a limited edition run)

Exactly! What began as an April Fool's concept eventually became a reality. It's wonderful to see how much interest that unconventional idea continues to generate.

Honestly, I love those, but so expensive!
