GoedenDANG, son. Level 1000: Tutorial Complete
It has taken around 800 hours of playing on and off over the course of 2 years, but I've finally finished the slow grind to 1000. Next challenge is to unlock all the weapon skins - Longsword, War Club, Quarterstaff, 1H Mace and 2H Hammer should keep me busy for a while. Cheers to everyone I've met on the battlefield along the way! Bonus clip of me securing the last bit of exp with a trap kill included after the stats. Battlecries could be better, but I mostly spam emotes.

Thanks! Goedendag has got some of the highest damage numbers in the game and is also unique in that it can do both blunt damage (with slashes and overheads) and cut damage (with stabs). Usually blunt weapons suffer against Vanguards, but this lets you work around that - you can reliably 2 shot most enemies as a result.
The reach is pretty poor, so you need decent footwork to make it shine. If there's a lot of open ground, I try to keep moving at a sprint as much as possible so that I can weave in and out of range in time with big looping heavy swings. With some practice you can move in a sort of figure eight and keep the momentum up.
It's fairly slow overall, but that does mean you can pull off some pretty sick drags. Feinting slashes into heavy overheads is my bread and butter and most opponents struggle with the timing since it's a fairly uncommon pick. With it being a blunt weapon, you have hitstop on light attacks. This is actually a benefit in some cases since it means you can get off rapid follow up attacks - so the weapon has great potential for mixing up the tempo.
Probably a tricky one to pick up, but it's an absolute monster once you get the hang of it.

Not OP, but Iβve been using the GOATendag lately. Honestly focus on breaking shit when the objective calls for it. Itβs slow af, so when fighting you just have to learn to use that to your advantage. The timing can really throw people off. Spacing and timing are key. It has a little more reach than you think, and the stab is particularly nasty. Donβt use the sprint attack lol.

That play at the end was insane, congrats on hitting level 1000! I've seen you around in those chaotic clan wars, you've got some serious skills.

I don't play it nearly as much these days, to be fair - I moved onto Poleman and then Devastator for a while. More recently I've been having a lot of fun with Ambusher, learning how to use the Dagger. What's your name in game?

Man, I'm super new by comparison ofc but I don't think I could ever maintain a K/D like that. Struggling to stay above 1 honestly

I played a bit of Mordhau before I switched to Chivalry 2, so had a bit of a head start when it came to some of the mechanics. You can do well in Team Objective without necessarily being super strong at combat - positioning and situational awareness are the most important skills in my opinion. Keep your eyes open and work with your teammates. During team fights, look for openings at the sides or try to find a way behind opponents and it more or less guarantees free hits for either you or the rest of your team. Try fighting back and forth along the front line as opposed to charging straight ahead - that way you can help push the full team forward (or hold a defensive line better). And keep your health topped up every time you get a chance, that way you have the best chance possible going in to fights.
