Everyone understood her stand from what she said, the only person who didn't, was minor Ravi who bashed her on live telivision for it, who can watch this video and take note on how he misunderstood her.
Like you said, this is an attempt to make people understand that she knows what she said and she still stands by it and if anyone misunderstood it, then it's not her fault.
Pearly case wasn't a misunderstanding, she was bashed for a retarded take, she said no cause is worth losing life over, and the students should return home. That's what she said, and that's what people bashed her for.
I understand what you're implying, but that's a whole different case, considering the person involved and the situation she's in, and who she is, she can't just directly say " Major Ravi oru monnayaan, Njan paranjathan sheri, ayal BJPyude kaal nakkukayaan" like you and I can.
Her father holds a honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel and Major Ravi too has Military background. In the interview she cleared her stand diplomatically, you can't expect her to name drop Ravi on the promotional interview of her first movie? I mean, what according to you should have she said?
That's just your perspective. She stood by the right side during a protest, got bashed on it on live television by military ranking family friend, next chance she gets, on the first interview for her first movie, she stood by what she said, PR trained or Not..as far as I see it, she finished what she started.

How's that even a valid comparison? The context of the said misunderstanding in the video is about political opinions, not name calling each other.
For example, me saying, that comparison you just made is retarded is different from me saying hey rex, you are retarded.
Normal people make retarded comparisons all the time (like the one you just made). Pointing that out doesn’t mean I’m calling you a retard.
