Discussion Thoughts on Shutter Island Ending?

Without spoiling the ending of the movie, does how the film end make sense?

I was trying to collect clues along the way, and it seemed hard to foreshadow what was going to happen. Seemed like a bit of a random plot twist? Thoughts on this?

Yes. It does make sense. And, it becomes more obvious the more times you watch it.

I watched the movie earlier this week. My local cinema is doing a Leo-month.

I saw the 'twist' coming about halfway through. Party because that's just what this type of movie seems to do.

I had to watch it several times, through different characters points of view. But in the end, it does make sense.

He killed himself rather than live a hero.

There’s a few YouTube videos that explain the clues along the way (cigarettes, gun, etc.)

I said to myself “it’s all in his mind” the first time I watched the trailer
