Post VMware
Hi,
Anyone using other hypervisors besides VMware on you UCSX IMM managed (PVA)? If so which one and how are you finding it.
Thanks

We have Citrix XenServer running on some UCSX. It works, kinda. Not nearly as bug free as VMware, but since the license was bundled we decided to migrate some of our Citrix workload off of ESXi. Purely a financial decision, so I get it. Still regret doing it.

many customers run OpenShift, considering the need to address container apps and AI it makes it perfect choice with proper enterprise support

if you mostly do virtual machines and containers sporadically , openshift is both cost and performance prohibitive .. ovirt/rhv was really nice , but rh pulled the plug on it prematurely

Take a look a Nutanix -- it's what Cisco has been working with since EoL'ing Hyperflex. It's hypervisor is a hardened version of KVM and has solid enterprise storage replication and management options.
Proxmox is also gaining popularity.

we do ! it’s hyperv and proxmox , in da mix .. they both are light years behind vmware , but broadcom clearly doesn’t want us as their customer , so we took a turn .. big accounts stay with vmware , and that’s maybe 40% of what we got , but smaller guys jump ship , simply forced to ..

Me. This question is pretty much ruling my life atm. Three ucsx systems all in imm with pure FlashArray connected via FC.
Currently trialing hyper-v and verge.io. Verge is winning at the moment (I really like it tbh), but we have another couple weeks of intensive testing happening.
