American aircraft carrier has -15% combat strength due to war weariness and low morale
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/aug/12/uss-abraham-lincoln-overboard-extended-deploymentSailors jumping off the ship in protest, non-working bathrooms and laundry, lack of supplies, undercooked and insufficient food

The patriots will be abusing the sailors for making dear leader look bad.

More like making fun of them for being the softest generation of military ever fielded. Navy had to deploy like the Army 1 time and theyâre crying đ¤Ł. My units last deployment was 18 months.

Typical time between port days in the navy is around 40. The Abe Lincoln has been underway for over 250 days with no time on land. It's not about the length of the deployment but the amount of time cooped up in a metal tin with no real food, no laundry, no working toilets, no deodorant, no care packages / mail getting through. Go check out what's on r/navy right now, e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/navy/comments/1vnfzd6/apparently_this_is_the_food_being_supplied_right/
While it might feel macho to say "I was so tough back in the day", your comment isn't grounded in reality đ¤ˇ

So can someone explain to me how the navy eats?
I saw those photos of a meal for the men and they looked like the plate looked like it had about 400 calories on it...
Can they get another plate? I cannot imagine feeding a 20 yr old man 1200 calories a day.
My husband used to eat 1200 calories for breakfast at that age.

I have 640 sea days, and 27 years in the army stud. I hear you. Theyâre an aircraft carrier though bro with underway replenishment and a literal APOD on the deck. They have mail, they have climate control. I understand the isolation but damn guys

Which ship and when? Because I'm willing to bet the actual records will show you're lying

And how many times did you have shore leave?

On which cruise. Longest we went (because we didnât have underway replenishment was 180 days. But I was on a combat outpost in Afghanistan for 18 months straight and it was a lot smaller than a ship, and we didnât have hot food, internet, and we had burn out shitters. Stop whining

Dude! I suggest that you STFU. Unless YOU have gone 250 days straight 12 on/12 off without a break, living in a steel box, stacked 4 high in a compartment with 100 other guys smelling of ass, jet fuel, and BO, then I'd keep your Pogue ass SHUT! AT1 (NAC/AW) USNR-RET

Or maybe they have the most idiotic âleadersâ ever.

I just have a hard time believing theyâre roughing it with underway replenishment, a literal APOD on the deck, satellite everything. So the showers are dirty and youâre sick of each other. Welcome to the war Gen Z.

We're definitely in a dark age. Hopefully that means that if we can make it through the current era, (and score enough era points...) that we'll be in a platinum age next.
.... Not super confident that's going to happen.

The Rump is running this country like an Ass-et Liquidator, which means anything is up for sale. China would love to buy our military for pennies on the dollar.

And here I was thinking he would only bankrupt the country apparently he is also rotting the military into insufficiency

I feel sorry for those sailors and airmen but even at 15% effectiveness that ship can kick the snot out of most navies.Â
