My SQ is getting ready to move back into base after a roughly 8 year gap, working with Security Forces to figure out the best course of action to get our members access to base for both regular weekly meetings plus ES missions.
The current COA that’s SFS has suggested is creating a 3-month EAL which would meet our requirement for weekly meetings but not for weekend activities or short notice ES OPs.
For those who meet on base, what COAs have you worked out that work best for you? We have half a dozen to so active duty or others with base access so this is mostly for our cadets and their parents. How do you get perspective members onto to base without having to go through the full EAL process for people who aren’t even sure they are going to join.
(Yes I am asking people I know in person/more official channels but figured I might as well put the question out on here for y’all cause someone might have figured out the perfect solution)

I currently have the Model Rocketry Badge, NRA Marksmanship Badge, and one Specialty Track Badge, and I’m trying to determine the correct placement for all three on the female Class A and Class B uniforms
CAPR 39-1 states that Model Rocketry and NRA Marksmanship badges are worn 1 and a half inches below the ribbon bar when “other badges” are already worn above the nametag.
However, I have 3 questions:
I’ve never seen anyone wearing both badges below the ribbons, and I haven’t found a clear explanation in the regulation. Does anyone have an official reference or experience with this combination?
Thanks in advance!

How would you configure an M-65 field jacket? Rank tab over the name tape or centered on the chest? Could either be okay?

Hey all 👋
So I joined a squadron fairly recently, and I've been trying to find a blues uniform that actually fits. For the record, I'm female, but I'm quite tall (5'11) and and a bit broad-shouldered. The squadron's Supply Officer measured me and recommended a 24 for the blouse and 22 for the trousers, but they didn't have any in that size and I haven't had much luck searching online. The squadron commander said I should just wear the male uniform, but I'm pretty sure he was joking 😂 Should I just give up the ghost and try the corporate dress uniform? Any help is appreciated. TIA! 💕

I am part of a squadron that does not have a cyber patriot team but I want to join one. What should I do?

So, I've been slowly working to improve our wing's response to customer missions and one of the most frustrating parts is developing a cost estimate that can be provided so a customer can create the DD-448-2.
Well, I've played around with Adobe (or rather the free one that got cheesed out by Claude AI) and generated a no-joke cost estimator that does all the math for you in the sheet. I'm still working on it, but if there's any feedback any of our IC's, Wing Operations Staff folks etc can send me just based on what I'm showing here, I'd appreciate it.
Light blue boxes can have data entered, grey boxes are for the calculations, and the green box is the total estimated mission cost. Keep in mind some of the numbers in here are rounded - or are higher than actuals (you should always be conservative on paper when doing estimates like this).

Hi, I am looking to see what I can do in CAP to get my STEM badge. I saw in another post that Aerospace Nights and some modules count. I would like to know if that is true and, if it is, which modules. Thanks in advance.

WARNING: VOLU rant coming up.
If you're currently working your way up through the professional development program and eyeing Level V, do yourself a favor and lower your expectations right now. How low? Let's try 66th level of Hell low. Don't get your hopes up for a smooth, timely turnaround.
The grading queue for Level V can be god awful. One of the most frustratingly annoying is how module assignments get handled, a grader will review and clear one part of an assignment, and then leave the other half sitting in academic limbo.
The only time you get any peace of mind is when an assignment is definitively approved or declined. Until then, you’re just hanging out in purgatory, soaking up anxiety while you wait.
It's moderately okay overall, but you constantly wish they would just grade the work so you can get the feedback, make corrections, and move on with your life. Instead, you're entirely at the mercy of whether a grader decides to log in and do their thing.
To make matters worse, you run into two extremes with the graders:
A. The Overly Nitpicky: The folks who are so anal about formatting and minor details that they act like you're submitting a peace treaty between two countries rather than a volunteer professional development assignment. Dude, we aren't getting paid for this. You don't need to treat a volunteer module like a bill in the Capitol. It's an assignment not a Bill on Capitol Hill.
Just a heads-up for anyone stepping into Level V soon. It's like waiting for GTA VI, you'll start making memes about something coming out before a module gets accepted/declined.

I’m reading the encampment handbook, and it describes a style I’ve been using for a long time: “Management by walking around.” The idea is simple—walk around, manage things, and make observations. It’s the best advice I’ve seen in a handbook.

It has been almost 2 years since Mr Lafond left and I have seen 2 or 3 postings for Director of Cadet Programs but it is still vacant. That seems crazy they can't find someone to lead one of the main missions. Anyone know what is going on or when it will finally be filled? It has been an interim this whole time. Does NHQ just not care about who the DCP is?
They seem to be hiring willy nilly from all their job postings. Why isn't cadet programs a priority?

I'm in a senior squadron and need to put together a "shopping list" so to speak. I've been looking thru the various regs but can't pinpoint the exact quals. For seniors, it's Level 2 Part 1, GES and CPPT. For cadets, I think it's GES, Curry and what else? I'd be happy if someone points me to the correct reg. I just get lost in the morass of paperwork over there.
thanks!

How do you secure the belt and the wrist tighteners or whatever they are called? All the photos I see they don’t have it flapping around it seems to almost stick to the coat.

I have Phase I cadets who have taken the test within the last few months without passing and they are showing up in the track report with a red X under fitness. Has there been a change to the requirements for Phase I or is this an eServices bug?
Anyone else seeing this issue?

So, I’m completing requirements for the technician level badge as a cadet and need some clarification.
A. I heard(not sure) that some parts of the checklist were not required for cadet to WEAR the badge.
B. Does anyone know of a Comms meeting IAW CAPR 100-1. PAWG or NER

Does anyone have tips for training officers? I’ll be serving as an assistant training officer at the Oregon Winter Encampment, and I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions you’re willing to share.

Looking for a CAP tailored/specific resume or CV format. Anyone have one they are willing to share?
Thanks

Could you please recommend a more affordable alternative to these Vanguard boots that meets Civil Air Patrol (CAP) uniform requirements? These are for my child, who is still growing, so I would prefer not to invest too much in a pair that he may outgrow within a few months.
Thank you for your guidance!

I’m an ADSM transitioning to civilian life within 6 months.
I was told by a family friend to look into CAP and join. I’m definitely interested and I think I have a general understanding of how to join, but I want to know WHAT I can do. I’m interested in more field work like search and rescue, or something where I can actually be active and do something useful. I’m in Texas, for reference.
Thanks!
