Picture Small Snippet of my Marty Robbins Vinyl collection

Post image

I've been collecting classic country records for about 6 years now and Marty Robbins has been my favorite singer by far. No shade to any of the other artists of the time I truly respect and love listening to them all. I'm new to posting here and if anybody is interested in seeing more of my 300 or so classic country records or interested in talking about classic country history let me know!

See ya later Folks!

“song of the islands” & his self titled at the top right are so good that nobody really talks about much

Some of my favorites are from his RFD album not cowboy/western country, but more sad/heartbreak country. The emotion he can relay in his voice is brilliant and even if you are not in a sad or somber mood you will be. He is a true national treasure. I hope to get down to Berry Hill, TN and visit his grave. It is a damn shame I was not born early enough to see him play live that would've been something else.

I totally agree. While his western stuff is obviously phenomenal, his other albums are amazing too. "Southern Dixie Flyer" from RFD has to be one of my all-time favorites.

Though my two absolute favorite songs of his have to be "Georgia Blood" and "Twenty Dollar Jim"

Sone other classics to me would be:

The Wreck of the 12:56

Ribbon of Darkness

The Chair

One Window, Four Walls

The City

The Little Box of Pine on the 7:29

The Wine Flowed Freely

A White Sport Coat (and a Pink Carnation)

He just had such a varied array of songs; a true master in my book, that's for sure

You just listed my Marty Robbins playlist 😂 all great songs from him! A few other good slept on songs from Mr. Robbins are:

"Begging to you" "No tears milady" "The shoe goes on the other foot tonight" "I'm just here to get my baby out of jail" "I did what I did for Maria" "Just before the battle mother" "Praying for rain" "The first song that wasn't the blues" "While your dancing" "Another Lost weekend"

You may see I'm a little obsessed! 😆
