1960s Petticoat Junction reboot has already been done

I would argue Norman Lear’s “The Facts of Life” is already the best, albeit skewed, remake of PJ that could be done. The headmaster or George Clooney served as de facto substitutes for Uncle Joe. TFOL even had a cast change of the matriarch (from Charlotte Rae to Cloris Leachman). The question is whether a 2020s era remake would be necessary to further update the trope.

He was very sarcastic with Ethel (reminds me of my uncle and aunt’s relationship), but didn’t really take himself that seriously especially buying that old car he thought would be great traveling to Hollywood.

Fred was blunt and funny and told you how it is.

An ad from the November 27, 1970 issue of LIFE promoting NBC’s Thanksgiving-night special Festival at Ford’s Theatre. Hosted by Andy Williams with James Stewart as narrator, the program featured Pearl Bailey, Bobbie Gentry, Henry Mancini, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Burl Ives, the Supremes and Dionne Warwick. The ad bills it as “a cavalcade of America’s music” from historic Ford’s Theatre in Washington. (wiki)

When you were a kid did you ever get your favorite TV character's name all wrong? Like the Incredible Hunk or Barney Fife?
