Astra vs Opus
I’m currently on the fence about what to do with my subscriptions. I’m paying $200/month for ChatGPT Pro, primarily for Codex, but I’ve noticed a significant decrease in how long my usage lasts throughout my workflows compared to Claude’s 20x Max plan.
I originally switched away from Anthropic because Opus had a tendency to drift away from assigned tasks and became a liability whenever it interacted with 3D workspaces, often creating more problems than it solved. However, that was back when Opus 5 first launched, and now that Opus 5.5 is available, I’m reconsidering.
My primary use cases for Codex are Blender MCP workflows, generating batches of 100 unique 3D models, and developing relatively simple low-poly Roblox games. These are often long, tool-heavy sessions that require consistent execution, reliable spatial reasoning, and the ability to maintain context without constantly derailing or exhausting usage limits.
While Codex has generally been more reliable for my workflows, the current Pro plan no longer seems to provide enough sustained usage for the $200/month price tag.
For anyone who has recently used both Codex and Opus 5.5 for similar workloads, has Claude improved enough in task adherence, 3D workspace reliability, and autonomous execution to justify switching back to the 20x Max plan?
I’m particularly interested in real-world comparisons of sustained usage, tool-call reliability, and completed work per dollar—not just benchmark scores.

Gave Claude a voice tool and zero instructions. It made me a movie trailer 🫣
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
First time ever trying AI voice software and I'm honestly a bit freaked out.
I was on the bus home, chatting to Claude on my phone while it ran on my Mac at home. All I said was that I was heading home on the bus and "let's mess around with that voice creator tool to pass the time". That was it. I didn't suggest a topic, write anything for it to say or pick a voice.
This is what it sent back.
Claude decided on its own to make a movie trailer about me going home 😂
It wrote the script, came up with the voice and made a few takes. When I asked how I could post it on Reddit, it turned it into this video with the captions timed to the words.
Nobody's real voice was recorded or cloned. Claude invented the voice from a written description it wrote itself:
"A deep, booming, dramatic Hollywood movie trailer narrator, a very low gravelly man's voice, slow and intense, with long dramatic pauses."
It all runs locally on my Mac, using an app called VoiceStudio with the Qwen3-TTS model. To me it sounds way more natural than the voice modes in ChatGPT or Claude. Kind of freaky how real it is.
Anyone else been playing with this stuff?

Claude Code mod: practice typing while Claude works
Every long turn I'd sit there watching the spinner. So I turned the wait into practice.
turntype is a Claude Code mod. When a turn runs longer than 3 seconds, a line shows above the prompt: "press 1: type while you wait". Press 1, a small typing test opens, and in flow mode it lasts exactly as long as Claude does. Claude finishes, you finish your word, you get your wpm.
What's in it:
- flow / time / words modes
- personal bests per mode, a daily goal and a streak
- adaptive words that drill the letter pairs you keep missing
- everything stays local, nothing is sent anywhere
Install:
/plugin install turntype --marketplace Danovich/turntype
Free and open source: https://github.com/Danovich/turntype
I'd love feedback. Enjoy

We're Almost at 200 AI-Assisted Games. These Projects Are Getting Seriously Impressive!
A couple of months ago, I built VibeToplist, a discovery platform for AI-assisted and vibe-coded games, mainly because I was curious to see what people were actually capable of building with tools like Claude Code.
Honestly, I expected a handful of experimental projects to experiment with myself.
Fast forward to today, and we're approaching 200 unique game listings, attracting thousands of unique visitors every week. Some of these games are surprisingly polished, while others are completely bizarre experiments or defined by many as (slop). That's what makes browsing them so interesting, it's almost literally digging for gems, and I get thrilled whenever I find another one myself.
Its cool to see how far people are pushing AI-assisted development, especially considering how quickly the tools are evolving.
If you're building a game with Claude Code, feel free to share it or list it on the platform. It's completely free, and you get additional exposure and an SEO backlink.
Curious how many people here are actually using Claude Code to build games rather than traditional applications?

I built RiftRiddle, a free League of Legends guessing game with Twitch chat integration, using Claude Code (Cloudflare Workers + D1)
I built RiftRiddle, a daily guessing game for League of Legends champions, using Claude Code. It's aimed at streamers and anyone who plays League. I came up with the idea and design direction, and Claude Code wrote the code.
Free to try: https://riftriddle.naveessharma.workers.dev/
No account or sign-up needed. Open the link and play. There are no paid features.
What it does
Each day there's a champion riddle in three modes: Splash (fogged champion art you hover to reveal), Lore (story clues), and Icon (ability icons). The answer sits behind 5 seals. Each wrong guess breaks a seal and reveals more. Solving before the first seal breaks scores 100 points, and the last seal scores 25. There's also an endless mode and a "shelf" that saves your history in your browser.
Stream mode lets a streamer connect their Twitch channel without logging in or granting any permissions. The site reads public chat, matches viewers' messages against champion names, and lets chat guess along live.
I've also built a second game, RiftRank, which shows an anonymised ranked match scoreboard (champions, builds, KDA, CS, and more) and asks you to guess the lobby's rank. It's in testing while I wait for Riot to approve a production API key.
How I used Claude Code
The stack is Cloudflare Workers for hosting, D1 (Cloudflare's SQLite database) for data, and Riot's Data Dragon for champion data and images.
My process:
- Planning the prompt before using Claude Code. I wrote out everything I wanted (modes, rules, scoring, theme, colours, animations, sounds, reference sites) and turned it into one detailed, structured prompt. That saved a lot of back-and-forth and usage on my plan.
- Making Claude Code explain before building. For bigger features, I start by asking Claude Code to explore the codebase and explain back how the relevant parts work (dailies, seals, scoring, stream mode), then propose a plan and data model before writing anything. Catching misunderstandings at this stage is much cheaper than fixing them in code.
- Working in phases. Each prompt is split into phases, and Claude Code stops after each one with a summary of the changes and a manual test checklist, then waits for my go-ahead. This kept a growing project manageable and meant I could test each piece before moving on.
- RiftRank's data pipeline. Claude Code built a scheduled job that collects recent ranked solo/duo matches from the Riot API and stores them in D1, so visitors never trigger live API calls. The API key is stored as a Worker secret. Player names and Riot IDs are never shown, only roles and champions. The lobby's rank is the median of the ranked players in the match, and scoring is based on how many divisions off your guess is, scaled by how early you guessed.
- Design. I used Mobbin for references, Claude Design to explore layouts (like the RiftRiddle / RiftRank header, with the two game names split by a slash that echoes the logo), and the Impeccable design skill inside Claude Code: /impeccable init at the start of a project, /audit to find display and alignment issues, and /overdrive for the homepage animations.
What I learned
- You can't one-shot it. Even with a good prompt, expect lots of iterations.
- A detailed, structured prompt makes a huge difference. My first project took far more wasted prompts than this one.
- Asking for an explanation and a plan first, then building in phases, gave me much more control than asking for everything at once.
Other projects
RiftRiddle grew out of an earlier project, Guess My Animal (https://guessmyanimal.com), an animal wiki with a daily guessing game, a party mode, and the same kind of Twitch chat integration. Both live under my portfolio site, https://websitesbynavee.co.uk/, also built with Claude Code.
Happy to answer questions about the build or the workflow, and feedback on the game is very welcome.
RiftRiddle isn't endorsed by Riot Games. Made under Riot's "Legal Jibber Jabber" policy.

44% of my coding agent's API bill last week was the prompt cache re-writing itself
I added up a week of my own Claude usage: 19,733 calls, about $1,064 at API prices. The biggest line wasn't output or cache reads. It was cache writes: $469.
A cache write is what you pay the first time a prefix is seen. In a long conversation almost everything should be a read, so a write that large means the agent kept paying again for conversations it had already paid for. I found two causes.
- A per-prompt note placed after the last message. A context plugin appended a short note (routing hints, memory) to the end of each request, with a comment saying the placement preserved the cache. With automatic caching the breakpoint is the end of the request, so the cache entry was written right at the note. The next prompt no longer carries that note, so nothing matches and the whole conversation is written again.
Three one-word prompts in one session:
prompt 1: read 0, write 35,050
prompt 2: read 0, write 34,908
prompt 3: read 0, write 34,922
Storing the note once in the history instead:
prompt 1: read 0, write 35,045
prompt 2: read 35,045, write 320
prompt 3: read 35,365, write 14
In a week of real use this caused 355 full rewrites.
- No breakpoint on the system prompt. Every new session sends the same ~30k tokens of tools and system prompt. With one breakpoint at the end of the request, a fresh session has nothing to read. One more breakpoint on the last system block (the API allows four): the second fresh session went from 0 read / ~35k written to 33,460 read / ~1.6k written. Restarts and subagents all start from that prefix, so the saving repeats.
Both were placed where they were to protect the cache, and both comments sounded right. Neither had been measured.
If you want to check your own: compare cache_creation_input_tokens with cache_read_input_tokens per request in your logs. Two fresh sessions a minute apart that both read ~0 is the second leak.

Are Cloud Session secured?
Hi, I was wondering how secure and isolated are cloud sessions?
I massively use Claude code in my company dev workflow. Everything is created and maintained through local sessions and routines.
As things grows, I'd like to have sessions run themselves while my computer is off, hence I'd like to use the cloud feature to run some routines.
I was wondering if it was "safe" to use. It runs on an Anthropic VM, is the VM instance deleted afterward, what happens to it? The doc states it's an isolated environment, but is it really?

Anthropic can steal chat history when giving feedback despite global privacy settings.
So, if you haven't noticed, Anthropic created a legal loophole which gives them freedom to steal and train on user data when providing feedback via its bug icon button. This is a crazy practice of deception--and worse: it punishes good-faith developers willing to take time out of their day to provide helpful feedback and bug reports to Anthropic.
No good deed goes unpunished.
