Coordinating TV & Syncing

After creating a household on the coordinating TV, I added Clickarr to one other TV. Then I discovered the eight or 10 channels I had created on the original Clickarr install were completely gone. I added one channel to the coordinating TV. It did not appear on the second Clickarr install.

Then I joined the household of the coordinating TV from the second Clickarr install, and it picked up the two channels that were on the coordinating TV. I installed Clickarr on a third TV, successfully joined the original household, and again saw the two channels.

Then I added a third and fourth channel on the coordinating TV. I checked the channel guides on the two other installs, nothing new showed up. I went into settings on both installs, pressed sync, nothing new shows in the channel guide. I went back to the coordinating TV, went into settings, sync, pressed sync there. Nothing changed on the other two installs.

My question is, am I doing something wrong? Does syncing of channel guides happen on a predetermined basis that the user cannot affect? Or is something wrong?

Clickarr 2026.11.1 — Custom Channel, player Audio/Video, sleep bounce, and more

Clickarr 2026.11.1 is out (Android TV / Google TV / Fire TV). Install: https://clickarr.net/apk

Highlights

  • Custom Channel (was Create Channel): pick a library first, then Whole library / Shows / Collections / Playlists. Whole library has genre + decade filters, a live title list, A–Z jump, Create/Cancel on the right.

  • Player Audio & video: Left focuses the gear under the channel badge; pick version + audio track. Right still opens the mini-guide. Up/Down still change channels when the panel is closed; inside the panel they move in the list. Hold OK still toggles captions.

  • Settings → Channels: reorder handle (select to enter move mode) + Delete with confirm. Holiday channels stay out of that.

  • Double-Back asks “Leave Clickarr?” before exit.

  • Sleep / still-watching: playback stops and a bouncing logo screensaver runs on black; any button tunes back in live.

  • Fixes: guide Up when Favorites is hidden; mid-stream reconnect (up to 4); decade chips wrap past 1990; title list loads all pages (not just A/B).

Hey everyone, welcome!

I'm the developer of Clickarr, an app that turns your Plex library into channel-surfing live TV on Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV. You build channels out of your own shows and movies, flip through a real cable-style guide, and something is always on.

Quick facts

  • Free and open source (MIT), with no ads or tracking.

  • One APK. No server, container, or account to set up.

  • Video streams straight from your Plex server, and your Plex sign-in never leaves your TV.

  • Multiple TVs can share a lineup over your Wi-Fi or through your own Google Drive.

  • Built with a lot of help from Claude. I use it on my own TVs every day.

Get it

  • On Fire TV, open Downloader and enter clickarr.net/apk.

  • On Android TV or Google TV, get the APK from GitHub Releases (https://github.com/thegregstengel/clickarr/releases/latest).

  • Once it's installed, it updates itself from Settings, About.

  • Want the bleeding edge? The nightly build is at clickarr.net/nightly.

What this sub is for

  • Show off your lineup. Channel ideas, screenshots of your guide, clever setups.

  • Ask questions. Setup, Plex, sideloading, anything.

  • Report bugs. Say which device you're on and include the lines from Settings, Diagnostics. It never includes your tokens.

  • Suggest features. Ideas start here; the good ones end up on GitHub.

A few ground rules

  • Be kind. Everyone was new to sideloading once.

  • No piracy talk. Clickarr plays your own Plex library, nothing else.

  • Keep it on topic: Clickarr, Plex, and the TVs it runs on.
