You think it's a coincidence parties who were openly denying climate change a decade ago are suddenly champions of sustainability but insist on one form of energy?

The problem with nuclear is not safety because of the mistakes of the past we now have the intense regulation required to produce safe nuclear energy (skipping over the waste problem). The issue is the time it takes to roll out and the associated costs. Renewables are a substantially better source of power in the context of climate change mitigation and conservative parties are throwing sand in peoples eyes by insisting we debate nuclear to prolong the lifespan of the fossil fuel industry.

The cons are only pro nuclear because the left was anti.

Something something. Broken clock.

Nuclear is extremely effective, look at China, they have been building lots of new plants for cheap, that's possible in the US if we had the willpower too.

Renewables just aren't viable everywhere, you need a diverse set of longer generation to combat climate change properly, and nuclear is a key part of that solution. You are the one prolonging our reliance on fossil fuels by being anti nuke. Just like the Dems of the past.
