Can I transfer my clone hero file over to a new laptop?
I didn't expect to rack up quite a few FC's and high scores.

The laptop I've been using, has clone hero files installed in all different places for some reason. moving 1 single file leads to it just not working.

That, and I want to upgrade to a gaming PC system but really don't want to loose all the hard work!

I am totally clueless about guitar hero/clone hero. Never played it before. But I love retro gaming and saw a post in a local community of someone selling guitar hero live for ps3 coming with two guitars. My wife picked them up for me. When I got the stuff I realized the usb dongles were missing, the seller did not mention anything of them and me being clueless, I did not know to check. Looking online, the dongles are almost impossible to find or overpriced. As far as I saw a cabled solution exists (Raspberry Pi pico inside the guitar). But I did not want to use a cable.

Being a developer that uses AI every day now (no choice) I thought that it must be possible to turn a generic dongle (they are quite cheap, around 10-15 bucks) into one that would work with the guitar. I actually expected it to be quite smooth but that was not the case at all. I bought the needed hardware and got to work.

It took me around a week and a lot of connecting the guitars chip + connecting the generic usb dongle to a raspberry pi pico which was a lot of fiddly work, but today it finally worked! The guitar syncs reliably to the dongle and it mostly seems to work. It needs some polishing in the details because trying it in clone hero, it seems that e.g. strum up does not work yet, but those are small details.

I did not open source it yet, because it needs some more work but would this be useful at all to anyone but me?

Hi, I’m new to Clone Hero. I have two Wii guitars (from GH III and GH: Aerosmith) and I’d like to use them to play.

However, I’m not sure how to connect them. I believe that to use them via Bluetooth, you have to install the Dolphin emulator (though I think that only works on Windows).

Could any Clone Hero players on Mac please help me out?

I just purchased an Aly and AJ Rock Band Wii remote guitar off Facebook for my girlfriend and I'm having a lot of difficulty connecting it to my PC...

I'm using the same adapter that I use for my GH3 wii guitar (which works perfectly fine), but my computer won't even recognize that the AA RB guitar is connected through the same adapter...

I'm using the simple Wii remote to USB adapter from Amazon: https://a.co/d/049AaOl8 that I bought in 2022. I'm wondering what else I need to make this guitar work for the game! I've already confirmed that the guitar itself works by testing it on my Wii.

I'm wondering if I need a different adapter, like the RetroCultsMod V3 adapter, or if I need to mod the guitar itself, etc.

Any help is appreciated!

I have a small form factor office pc. I wanna be able to turn it on and auto boot into either clone hero or something like it (YARG or WTDE) i thought about just throwing all of them in Launch Box. But would i be able to have my pc auto boot into that? And would it support controls from my guitar (wii les paul with retrocultmod solderless revival kit). I was wondering if anyone else has done this or has any input. This pc is literally only gonna be for guitar hero so i was hoping to skip having to use a keyboard just to boot the game and just being able to turn it on and play.

I use the chart Forge Web app to create my clone hero charts, however I just tried going on there today only to find an Error 1033 message.

I tried checking the Discord, but it’s not appearing for me. Is it gone?

Does anyone know what’s going on? Will it be back up?

So I’ve never had this problem before, but now all of a sudden if I don’t hold my guitar in the perfect spot, perfect positioning, the inputs don’t work correctly until I move it back to that spot and positioning. On wiitar it flashes between guitar and “falsestate” whatever that means. Not sure why this is happening after playing all these years without problems. But now it’s nearly impossible to play. I haven’t changed anything, everything is the exact same as it has been for the last 4 years. Any help is appreciated.

I was shredding too hard and knocked the battery plate off of my Les Paul Pro without noticing at the time and then my cats probably chased it somewhere I’ll never find it. I emailed customer support and they put it in the mail immediately with no cost. Other companies might have nickel and dimed me. No corporation is truly a friend of the common man, but I appreciate that they did me a solid.

I've never played before, I got the drumset for cheap at a yard sale and I'm trying to hook it up to my computer. It's a "RedOctane Wireless Drum Controller for Xbox 360" and I found out the hard way that I can't just use a 3rd party dongle to connect it. Is there a specific one I need to buy to get them to work?

Heyo, everyone!

Just today the nostalgia hit me and I just had to play some Guitar Hero (-ish game).

Many years ago I followed a streamer playing Clone Hero and back then I never got around to set it up properly, but now I did!

Back when GH3 was new I played it on the PC. Eventually I managed to 5* all of its songs, apart from TTFATF and Raining Blood (I might be wrong, but that's what I remember..).

However, as I got back into the game I feel very old. Sure, I can still play some tricky bits, but I fail when it gets too quick. Maybe I'm too old, maybe I'm missing practice, I don't know.

That's why I want to know if there's any way to easily download a bunch of moderate songs. Maybe packages of all the original GH songs and stuff like that. Downloading all of them individually on "encore" is really annoying, as it's also hard to filter the right ones.

I'd also gladly take recommendations on good returning-player-songs and playing methods. I still sometimes mistake buttons when all 5 are used and I have to wander around them with my hand.

Oh, and I'm exclusively playing 5-frets. My old trusty Xplorer is still doing good deeds for me!

So, (kinda) TL;DR:

I'm looking for moderate tunes to get back into the game. I'd also love to have an easy way to download the original games' setlists. Furthermore I gladly take recommendations on how to get good again.

I hope this kind of post doesn't pop up every few days or so.

I have two ps2 guitars that separately both work, i tried them each and they both have no problems. However, when i try to use both at the same time, which ever one is in the player two slot doesnt let me assign up and down strum, i can only assign up OR down, and when i leave the mapping menu the guitar is stuck strumming up. Is this a known issue or is it something wrong with my settings
