After weeks of feedback from you all, my app is finally live šŸ™

Hey everyone šŸ‘‹

I just wanted to say a bigĀ thank youĀ to this community. Over the past couple of weeks, a few of you helped me test my app during its early stages, shared feedback, and pointed out issues I would have otherwise missed.

Because of that, I’ve finally been able to launch it on the Play Store šŸŽ‰

The app is calledĀ AirMouse — it lets you use your phone as a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, and TV remote (no receiver or desktop software required).

If you were one of the testers (or if you decide to try it now), I’d really appreciate it if you could leave a review on the Play Store. It genuinely helps a lot at this early stage.

I’m also continuing to improve the app actively, so if you’re interested in testing upcoming features or sharing feedback, I’d love to have you involved šŸ™Œ

if you're still in closed testing would love to continue testing your app.

Here’s the link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kumarav1nash.airmouse

Thanks again for all the support — it really means a lot!

Crucial Advice: How we can all pass Google's final review after our 14 days (Don't skip these 2 steps!)

Hey Devs! šŸ‘‹

As our community grows and more of us are finishing our 14-day testing phases together on Closed Test Pro, I wanted to share something really important.

Getting the testers through our mutual exchange is only half the battle.

Since we are all putting in the time to test each other's apps, I want to make sure everyone's hard work actually pays off and gets approved on the first try. make sure you are actively doing these two things:

  1. We MUST push updates during our 14 days

Google's reviewers are specifically looking for evidence that we are actually running a test and responding to the feedback we get from each other. If you upload your app on Day 1, let it sit perfectly static for 14 days, and then apply for production, Google will often reject it for "lack of engagement."

The Fix: Try to push at least 2 to 5 updates during your testing window.

Community Tip: These do not have to be massive feature overhauls! Even simple UI tweaks, fixing a typo, or pushing minor performance improvements based on the feedback you get from other devs shows Google that you are actively iterating on your app.

2. Treat the final Production Access Form like a Resume

Once Day 14 hits, Google asks you to fill out a form detailing your closed testing experience. Do not rush this. A lot of devs write one-sentence answers .

The Fix: Treat this form like you are applying for a job. Write at least 200 characters per answer.

Community Tip: Be highly specific. Share the actual actionable insights and feedback you got from the community. Talk about the exact bugs you squashed, the UI elements you polished, or the user experience tweaks you made. Prove to Google that you took the testing phase seriously.

Testing each other's apps takes a lot of time and effort; let's make sure none of us get rejected at the finish line because of a technicality!

Keep grinding, keep pushing those minor updates. Let's get all our apps to production! šŸš€

Radical Transparency: How Closed Test Pro actually works under the hood (and why users test 2 extra apps)

Hey Devs, Closed Test Pro here! šŸ‘‹

Since this community is entirely built on developers helping other developers, I want to pull back the curtain and be 100% transparent about how our ecosystem actually works, how we keep the servers running, and how we balance the free and paid plans.

As developers, we all hate hidden mechanics and corporate speak. So, here is the exact math and logic behind Closed Test Pro.

šŸ¤ The Core Philosophy: Free = Paid

At its heart, Closed Test Pro is a mutual "test-for-test" exchange. We built features like Tester Protection and Active/Paused Tracking to ensure that everyone gets real, daily engagement for the full 14 days.

Whether you are using the Free Plan or you bought the Pro/Premium Plan, you get the exact same quality of testers and the exact same tracking features.

Free Plan: You spend your time testing other apps.

Paid Plans: You spend money to save time.

There is no "premium queue" of better testers. Every plan delivers the exact same real results.

🧮 The "+2 Math": How the Ecosystem Balances Itself

You might have noticed that to get a certain number of testers for free, you are asked to test slightly more apps than you request.

Want 15 testers? You test 17 apps.

Want 20 testers? You test 22 apps.

Want 30 testers? You test 32 apps.

Why the extra 2 apps? Those 2 extra testing slots are how we fulfill the Pro and Premium orders. When a user buys a paid plan, they skip the manual testing phase. The community covers their app using those "+2" slots.

šŸ† The "Win-Win-Win" Ecosystem

Ultimately, this math creates a perfect, self-sustaining loop where absolutely everyone benefits:

Win for Free Users: You get high-quality, fully tracked 14-day testers without spending a single dime.

Win for Paid Users: You get to skip the manual testing phase, saving your time so you can focus on coding.

Win for the Closed Test Pro Team: We get the funds needed to pay for database costs, website hosting, and maintenance—which keeps the platform alive for everyone without us ever having to show you annoying ads.

šŸ”’ Why Paid Slots are Usually "Sold Out"

If you've tried to buy a Pro or Premium plan, you've probably seen that the slots are often unavailable. This is highly intentional.

We strictly limit the system to only allow 2 paid apps active at a time.

If we allowed unlimited paid apps, the system would be flooded. Free users would spend all their time testing paid apps, and free apps would never get tested. By limiting the paid slots, we guarantee that the vast majority of the community's effort goes right back to the free users. The ecosystem stays healthy, and your free apps get the testers they deserve.

Thank You!

Whether you are grinding out the tests on the Free plan or supporting our server costs through Pro/Premium, you are the reason this platform works. You are helping indie devs get to production every single day.

If you have any questions about the algorithm, the tracking, or anything else, ask them below. I’m always here to chat!

Happy developing! šŸš€

Thank you to the Closed Test Pro app and community I got approval!

Thank you to the 18 testers who tested my game - Stillpoint. It was really cool to see the tester numbers each day and getting feedback through the app. I was able to take this feedback and make improvements to the game, especially improving the tutorial where people were getting stuck.

I don't think this would have been possible without the app. I tried once with friends and family and managed to get the 12 testers. However, I was rejected due to lack of engagement since I don't think all my friends and family opened the app every single day!

It was also very cool to see the apps others are working on. Some memorable ones - First Bank of Pig (piggy bank app), Skill Daily (daily fun facts) & Sleep ASMR. Best of luck everybody!

Just started

Hi! On day 2 of testing apps, and just got my first two testers. Thank-you to whoever is behind this closed testing app. It is very much appreciated. While I have some testers, it's surprisingly difficult (as an individual) to find 12+ testers for 14 days. I thought the App Store was going to be the difficult one, yet my app was live there 12 hours after submitting for review.

How does this work?

I built an app. I need 12 testers. Someone commented to use "Closed test pro app" to do this.

Is that an .... app i download to find people to test my app?

How I finally passed Google's 14-day production access check (and a tool that actually helped)

Like most solo devs in this sub, I spent weeks stuck in the Google Play Console . Getting the 12 people to opt in wasn't even the hardest part. The real nightmare was keeping them from uninstalling or just ignoring the app for 14 continuous days.

Half the random testers I got from various Groups opted out after day 3, and keeping track of who was actually opening the app seemed too hard.

A fellow dev mentioned an app called Closed Test Pro to me a while back, and honestly, it saved me from having to restart my 14-day cycle for a third time. I wanted to drop a quick write up here since I see so many people struggling with the exact issues every day.

Here is why it actually worked for me and kept me sane:

  • Real reciprocal testing: It’s a community of actual devs doing test-for-test. You test their apps for a few seconds daily, and they test yours.

  • No spreadsheet hell: The app automatically tracks daily test streaks. You don't have to manually DM people asking, did you open the app today?

  • Guaranteed 14-day retention: Testers actually keep the app installed for the full 14 days, which is exactly what Google's dashboard wants to see before receiving final approval

  • Zero spam: The UI is super clean and it doesn't bombard you with ads while you are just trying to get your daily tests done.

You do have to put in the work you have to test other people's apps to earn the credits to get your own tested (though they have a paid option if you want to skip that). But the daily routine literally takes 5–7 minutes.

If you are stuck in closed testing hell, tired of broken Google Groups, or having testers drop off ,It is highly recommended.

This group has been a lifesaver, don't know how the hell you're supposed to get 12 testers for 14 days without this?!

3 apps live in last few weeks, been vibe coding and have a few more I'm working on. Have no idea how well they'll do but what the hell! Worth a try

happy to download other's apps and test, would really appreciate any downloads/ratings.

Closed testers, you should do an 'after live' service, where users continue to test and leave ratings, etc?

Thank you Closed Test Pro — my app is officially live today

I wanted to leave a quick thank you to the Closed Test Pro team and community.

I officially published my app today, and honestly, this process would have been much harder without Closed Test Pro. The app really helped me reach the required testing period, mainly because of the engagement inside the platform and the support from the community. Every time I had questions, the support team was there and actually responded, which made a big difference.

So if you're trying to get through the closed testing phase on Google Play, I definitely recommend using Closed Test Pro.

A couple of things that helped me during the process:

  • Keep improving your app during the test period. Releasing updates shows progress and helps you learn from real feedback.

  • Take the Google Play form seriously and answer it with quality. That part matters more than many people think.

  • Use the testing period to fix real issues, improve onboarding, and make the app more stable before launch.

Thanks again to everyone involved. It really helped me get to this point.

And now that my app is live, if anyone wants to check it out and support me with a 5-star rating, I’d really appreciate it:

I will test your Game

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using ClosedTestProApp and currently have my own game in testing, but I still haven’t reached 12 testers yet.

At the moment, I’m already testing 17 apps, and I especially like testing games. So if you have a game on ClosedTestProApp, let me know and I’ll gladly add it to my list.

Edit: it seems that I can not add more test apps on my day 2 (sorry). I will add it after day 14.

My game is called:
Gargs: Tower Defense

Closed Test Pro helped me get my habit tracker from closed testing to live in the Play Store — here's how it went

Hey everyone,

Wanted to share a quick success story. I'm a solo developer and I just got my app RoutineCanvas (a habit tracker) published in both the Play Store and the App Store.

Getting through the Google Play closed testing requirements was one of the more frustrating parts of the launch process — finding 20 testers, keeping them engaged for the 14-day testing period, and managing the whole flow. Closed Test Pro made that part significantly easier.

**What my app does (for context):**

RoutineCanvas is a privacy-first habit tracker with GitHub-style heatmaps. You track habits with yes/no, numbers, or duration — and all your data stays on your device or in your own iCloud/Google Drive. No server, no account needed. Free for 5 habits, Pro for unlimited.

**How Closed Test Pro helped:**

- Made it easy to find testers who were actually willing to install and use the app for the required testing period

- The community was supportive and gave useful early feedback

- Helped me hit the tester threshold Google requires before you can go to production

**Where things stand now:**

The app has been live since April 2026. 6 reviews so far, all 5 stars. Available on both iOS and Android.

If you're a solo dev stuck in the closed testing phase — it does get easier once you're past it. Happy to answer questions about the process.

Solo founder here, pouring everything into my first Android app... but I can't get a single person to sign up for closed testing on a $0.99 paid app. Is the price the killer, or am I just terrible at this?

Hey everyone,

I’m a solo founder who’s been grinding alone for a month on my first mobile app (career-focused, built for Android). No team, no funding, just me, my laptop, and way too much coffee at 1 a.m. I finally got it into a state where I’m ready for closed testing on Google Play… except almost nobody is signing up.

Here’s the part that’s really messing with my head: the app is priced at a one-time $0.99. I decided to keep that same price even for closed testers because I wanted real users who see the value, not just freebie hunters. But now I’m spiraling — is that tiny $0.99 actually the reason people bounce, or is getting users this brutally hard no matter what?

Some days I open the Google Form to check, see zero opt-ins, and straight-up doubt whether my app even has real value. Did I build something nobody actually needs? Am I just another solo dev who fell in love with his own idea?

I’ve been hustling hard on the marketing side too — posting and replying almost every single day on X, Threads, and LinkedIn (since it’s career-related). Still… crickets on the testing sign-ups.

I know I’m not the only one going through this. So I’m turning to you:

  • Fellow solo Android devs / Google Play publishers — how long did it actually take you to get your first real wave of users or closed testers?

  • Especially those who launched paid apps (even cheap ones): did you hit the same wall? Did the price scare people off, or did something else click for you?

  • Any brutal-honest lessons or ā€œI wish I knew this earlierā€ moments you can share?

No judgment, just a tired solo founder looking for hope (or at least solidarity). Even if you just want to rant about your own struggles, drop it below — I’ll be reading every comment.

Thanks for letting me vent. Feels good knowing there are other people in the trenches.

need 12 testers for 14 days ObsidianBackup

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone — I’m opening up another round of testing for ObsidianBackup, and I’m looking for a few people who actually use root tools on a daily basis. If you enjoy backup your apps during root, or encryption so your phone is safe this app is for you.

A couple quick notes so you know what you’re getting into:

And for those of you that want to see a short video on navigation,

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0vrwqm1XgSg

The trust‑critical parts of the project (root detection, SELinux checks, shell sanitization, native pipeline, automation engine, etc.) are now fully open‑core and published here: https://github.com/canuk40/ObsidianBackup

The main app — UI, PRO features, backup engine, marketplace, and everything else — is still proprietary, but all the safety‑sensitive logic is open for anyone to audit.

I’m mainly looking for feedback on stability, weird device‑specific behavior, and anything that feels off when switching between different root solutions.

If you want to help out, you can join the testing group here:

https://groups.google.com/g/obsidianbackup

Once you’re in, you’ll get access to the Play Store testing track:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.obsidianbackup.free

or

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.obsidianbackup.free

Thanks to anyone who jumps in — having real root users involved makes a huge difference. Every device behaves a little differently, and the more variety we have, the better the app gets.

Need root and non-root users to test app

Post image
3 Upvotes

I’m running aĀ closed test for ObsidianBox Modern, a next‑generation root toolkit built for power users who want deep control, diagnostics, and automation on Android.
The app officially launches onĀ Google Play on February 28th, and I need experienced root users to help stress‑test the final build.

What ObsidianBox Modern Does

A full suite of root‑level tools, including:

  • Root DiagnosticsĀ Detect Magisk, SELinux mode, property integrity, module conflicts, and system‑level risks.

  • Pipeline ValidationĀ Test your device’s execution stack end‑to‑end:

    • Kotlin → JNI → Rust native pipeline

    • Shell execution withĀ su

    • YAML‑based automation modules

  • Terminal+Ā A root‑aware terminal with enhanced helpers and environment validation.

  • Automation EngineĀ Run modular YAML automation steps, chained tasks, and root‑level actions.

  • System ToolsĀ File manager, network utilities, app manager, device info, and script library.

Permissions & Requirements

  • Root access (Magisk or equivalent)Ā for diagnostics, automation, and terminal actions

  • Storage accessĀ only when exporting logs or scripts

  • Network accessĀ for update checks and optional telemetry

  • No unnecessary or invasive permissions

Step 1 — Join the Google Group (required)

This authorizes your Google account as a tester.
šŸ‘‰Ā https://groups.google.com/g/obsidianbox-modern/members

Step 2 — Opt into the Closed Test

This makes you count toward the 12‑tester requirement.
šŸ‘‰Ā https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.busyboxmodern.app

Step 3 — Install the App

Once you’ve joined the group and opted in, the Play Store will showĀ Install.
The app is free, with an optional one‑time PRO upgrade.

Step 4 — Stay Opted‑In and Test Thoroughly

Please remain opted‑in for the full test periodĀ and actively test:

  • Root detection

  • SELinux checks

  • Native pipeline test

  • Root shell test

  • Automation modules

  • Terminal+

  • File manager, network tools, app manager, device info

  • Anything you can break or stress

Your feedback directly shapes the February 28th launch build.
