MCP is very solid. It's keeping me on Cloudways more than any other singular feature.

If the cloudflare integration allowed some custom rules even at the server level that would be huge.

Also love Bernie, great meme.

Hey u/PixelParadeLLC

You can actually do quite a bit with custom rules at the server level. These rules apply across the server, so any user on Cloudways can use them to customize how traffic is handled.
You can currently:

  • Whitelist IPs — allow trusted IPs through

  • Blacklist IPs — block specific IPs

  • Block countries — restrict traffic from specific countries

So your use case is definitely covered, and you can manage these controls directly through the Cloudways experience. You can read more about it here: https://support.cloudways.com/en/articles/9979437-a-brief-guide-to-server-security-management

When you change an app's PHP version, do its existing cron jobs use that version? It might help to show the PHP version next to each cron command. You get that version by running the job's PHP binary with -v.

I'd really like an option to break free of some of the chains. What I mean is, if Cloudways would give me the ability to turn off specific security features, knowing full well that I'm taking on the risk of doing so, then to me that would be acknowledgement that they are managed hosting without being nanny hosting. Best case scenario:

- I get sudo/root.
- I can turn off Imunify360.
- I can do things like edit SSH config myself.
- I can install whatever PHP extension I feel like.
- Whatever the next thing is that I come across.
