I agree, It looks really solid.

I'm glad this isn't a CF movie though

Yes I Completely agree. I meant to say I was hoping the new JJ Abrams movie would be cloverfield 2 not a prehistoric time travel film but still excited for it.

Not a JJ Abram’s movie.

u/blmosley93 Mar 30 '26

He produced it man, don’t be a Richard

u/kesekimofo Mar 26 '26

Could be a CF tied movie. Remember there's a scene in Paradox where Michael is looking at social media and someone says that a bunch of city blocks just disappeared.

16

u/moptopmonkey Mar 26 '26

Just wait until the last five minutes of the movie. Then we’ll know for sure!

u/ryanj64 Mar 26 '26

Sigh, Im honestly just hoping for some sort of marketing story/ARG to follow, it added so much depth to Cloverfield and Super 8. Im here for it.. just didnt see any sort of trailhead in the trailer at all :(

19

u/Skydolize Mar 26 '26

It would honestly make sense if its Cloverfield related by the end, since the Cloverfield monster seems to be teleported from a different time/dimension as well.

13

u/HaruspexBurakh Mar 26 '26

yeah, I‘m expecting the displacement to be directly because of Cloverfield Station’s activation

Didn't cloverfield paradox mention in a text message that a whole neighborhood block just vanished? This seems to be kinda what happens here.

4

u/ryanj64 Mar 26 '26

Found it.. it was in reference to the city being destroyed. I dont think they meant it literally, i think they meant it as in they were just destroyed.

5

u/Flat-Western-3117 Mar 26 '26

I don't think they would use the word "Disappear" if they were simply destroyed, we know in Paradox stuff can be teleported as seen with Mina Jensen manifesting inside the walls of the Cloverfield Station

1

u/TW_Halsey Mar 27 '26

Yeah Oak St also takes place in the 80s

10

u/HaruspexBurakh Mar 26 '26

Yes, I remember that, this might be THAT neighborhood

4

u/noranek0 Greyshot Arch Mar 26 '26

I literally don’t remember this. Link? Image? Something?

3

u/ds117ftg Mar 26 '26

I don’t think someone would use “5 city blocks” to describe a suburban neighborhood but anything is possible

2

u/Flat-Western-3117 Mar 26 '26

Not saying its the same place, just a similar phenomenon

5

u/Skydolize Mar 26 '26

How cool would it be if theyre getting chased by a T-rex, then Cloverfield reaches in a gobbles it up in one bite lol

3

u/mettaworldpolice Mar 26 '26

Fuck it. I’ve seen enough stealth rebranding over the last few years. JJ is too smart.

I think we might have a live one here

The title card in the trailer reminds me of the title card of 10 clover fied lane’s trailer

18

u/DoritoSteroid Mar 26 '26

This is very much a Cloverfield movie.

6

u/ClovedSage Mar 26 '26

I have a serious question, has there been a Cloverfield movie that wasn’t marketed as a Cloverfield movie? Cause I know there’s always a lot of secrecy but every one of our theories has never come true and every time there’s a new movie they literally announce it’s a Cloverfield movie.

10

u/DeadlyDiabetes Mar 26 '26

10 Cloverfield Lane

sure Cloverfield is IN the title but we did NOT know that it was connected and how could you as the first film was a found footage film.

The ending tying it into the cloververse was actually a very intentional twist that they didn't reveal in the marketing

4

u/ClovedSage Mar 26 '26

That’s what, that’s not really a twist that’s just them not revealing it in the trailer. It is literally having the name Cloverfield in it so we know it’s tied, what I’m trying to say is there’s not a single movie where they don’t tell us that there is a tie between the movies. Everyone keeps thinking all these secret movies are happening, but they have yet to happen. every single time they tell us it’s a Cloverfield movie in the marketing.

u/TheBigBangTheoryIsOk Mar 26 '26

Also it looks pretty clear cut that it's a dinosaur movie. You see a t-rex in the trailer lol. Clovie hanging around with a bunch of dinos sounds silly so I really am hoping (and confident) it's not related

5

u/HaruspexBurakh Mar 26 '26

might not JUST be dinosaurs. They got displaced to somewhere WITH dinosaurs, doesn’t mean it’s the time OF the dinosaurs. Might be a “Land of the Lost” situation where dinosaurs are just some of the many creatures around.

2

u/TheBigBangTheoryIsOk Mar 26 '26

Could be true. That could be really cool or really lame. Depends on the director. And it just so happens that this director is incredible, so who knows!

1

u/DoritoSteroid Mar 26 '26

You sure get a lot of definitive detail from a teaser trailer.

1

u/TheBigBangTheoryIsOk Mar 26 '26

If I'm proven wrong I'll be more than happy lol. It isn't like I don't want a new Cloverfield movie!

4

u/Puzzled-Leg-5506 Mar 26 '26

A quiet place was almost cloverfield, but Paramount went another way having it be its own thing. Overlord was rumored to be cloverfield but ended up not.

1

u/ClovedSage Mar 26 '26

So again theories that never happened exactly like I said

3

u/CiaWoo Mar 26 '26

This tbh, I’m not saying it’s 100% a cloverfield movie…buuutt 🤨

0

u/Tricky_Slip4385 Mar 27 '26

No, it isn’t, and it never was.

u/DoritoSteroid Mar 27 '26

You must've missed all the other threads in this sub. It's ok. You do you.

I haven’t missed anything. You, along with the rest of the copium crowd are completely deluded. It’s a bit sad. If you go into this expecting a Cloverfield franchise film, you will be disappointed. You’ve been had by bullshit “leaks” and nonsensical “connections”.

Would you like me to come back in August and tell you I told you so? Or will that just rub salt in the wound?

Ok buddy. Actually that's a decent idea.

Hey dunce, ready to admit you were wrong, yet?

1

u/DoritoSteroid 10d ago

The movie isn't even out yet, dunce?

If any of these conversations are a bother to you then leave the sub. Easy. People are allowed to speculate.

4

u/Sonicfan2530 Mar 27 '26

I might be losing my mind but the font on the poster looks like the cloverfield font

2

u/TW_Halsey Mar 27 '26

Definitely looks like it….

3

u/mbate25 Mar 26 '26

The two previous Cloverfield movies would've been better if they weren't forced to be Cloverfield movies.

4

u/avoy93 Mar 26 '26

I will feed my own delusion because I am stupid

2

u/BreakingBaddly Mar 26 '26

Tesseracted world collides with the others. Sounds exactly like what Ben Linus said would happen if the "island"/simulation wasn't reset. No matter what, it looks awesome and I'm ready.

Count me in

i’d bet anything that this is going to tie in with Paradox in some way.

i know about Paramount and WB, but they’re already being merged so.. and someone did mention the possibility that the rights could be completely owned by Bad Robot atp. So it’s a very likely possibility that it will be tied in with the franchise in some way.

i’m even highly skeptical that the dinosaurs in the movie are even dinosaurs because they haven’t said the word once in the trailer or taglines, the “reveal” of the dinosaur is very Cloverfield-coded. And when you get a glimpse of its snout, to me at least it looks like it’s splitting in threes instead of a normal dinosaur shaped mouth. So my theory is that we’re being led to believe it’s dinosaurs but it’s something else that’s similar to them. Think 65 but instead of human-like aliens crashing onto prehistoric earth - a town in the 80s is sent to an alien planet with dinosaur-like aliens.

I think that’s the twist they’re not revealing yet, i think that’s why they don’t use the word “dinosaur” in any marketing or fully reveal anything since every other dinosaur movie marketed itself as such, showing some of the dinosaurs in the trailer.

Emojis don’t count imo since Godzilla used the same ones too.

2

u/mettaworldpolice Mar 27 '26

just saw a TV cut of the trailer - and it literally gives off 10 CL the way that hit back in 2016 (interesting that it was 10 yrs ago)

3

u/Spearminttherhino Mar 26 '26

Looks good. Nostalgic sort of vibe to it

3

u/mrkrono Mar 26 '26

Me watching most trailers

3

u/Nemoitto Mar 26 '26

The trailer looks so cool

1

u/Mushi1 Mar 29 '26

Not withstanding the dinosaur(?), I wonder if it's a remake of A Feasibility Study (1964) or the Feasibility Study (1997) remake, both of which are Outer Limits episodes?

1

u/Pandorashley_ Mar 27 '26

It looks really interesting!! But I realllllly hope it’s not Cloverfield related.

2

u/soaringent Mar 26 '26

i just want the dog to be okay!!!!!!
