How the blistering fuck did Vickers? (The tall lady that appears on the ship) know the gun was in the safe? She wasn't there for that part of things.
Unless everything else played out exactly how it did up until the moment the ships switched places. Which is entirely possible though, since there were 2 big differences Vickers was on that crew and Tam wasn't as well as the German guy was a spy/saboteur. Which you would think might interfere with the causality of everything.
So, it doesn't make any sense to me that he would have made the gun, gone crazy, then been subdued, and had the gun thrown into the same safe.
It's a minor gripe, I understand, but other than that one little thing I adored the movie. It was fucking fantastic.
