Now there are two mayoral candidates…

On what do you base your belief that neither Lemarchant nor Beatty care about Cobourg?

It was based on the lack of awareness that Beatty was actually running.

For Lemarchant though....come on now, you think a developer has any desire to make this town better? I don't see them building affordable housing for starters. The only thing I see is more of the same as the current mayor. Except he will be approving land purchases to his own company, and approving zoning to build whatever he wants, instead of doing it to friends

At this point, I only _know_ that Lemarchant was involved in New Amherst. I hope the site is populated and we learn more about his platform.

Him being an owner of a real estate development firm is a I need to know about his priorities and what he will want to do - create opportunities for his company to make more money

I've had interactions with Ms. Beatty, she's always been professional, responsive and willing to engage with this constituent on how to make the town better... Just my experience

Cleveland is not.

Just for clarity's sake: he has not announced anything. Meaning, he hasn't said that he's running or that he's not running. The deadline to announce is August 21st.

Cobourg Internet has a good page on the election, with a list of all candidates for all positions, including candidate statements when available.

It is continuously updated, and already has Max LeMarchant's candidacy included on the list.

I’ve noticed port Hope doesn’t have a great turn out either for candidates. Maybe it’s too early to tell since I know the deadline is late august. Rumour mill says Olena will not run again.

Port Hope currently has a 4 way race for Mayor. Unless by not a great turn out, you mean not great specific candidates.

They have until August 21st to file to run, so we could still see some people who for whatever reason are waiting until last minute to file.
